บท 84: Promise
Haruto opened his eyes inside a room. He stretched his body while enjoying the morning sun coming from the window. He usually woke up earlier for his daily training but his current environment was not suitable to do so. For now he made use of basic workouts to prevent his body from getting stiff.
"Ubh... no, I'm at my limit..."
Not long after, there's voice sounded from the outside of his room, yawning deeply once, he made his way to the door smiling wryly.
The moment he went out from his room, on his side was the sight of Selianna crawling on all fours while holding her mouth with a very pale face.
"Y-Your condition seemed worse than before, are you alright?" Haruto was taken aback.
"M-Milord! Ugh.. how disgraceful...." Selianna averted her head.
This was their second week after they departed from the port city Meilenne. Right now they were staying in a swaying ship right in the middle of the sea.
Their destination was the Eastern continent, the territory of the beastman race. The objective coming there was obviously to participate for the Tenkaichi Budokai tournament.
It's already more than a month and a half so the qualifier will begin in a few weeks, with their current speed, they should be able to make it there a few days earlier.
Though that didn't make things easier for people like Selianna that extremely weak in a ship. It was already amazing she could actually hold on for more than two weeks here although it was thanks to Kaori's Soul Magic. It can even strengthen one's mind and spirit, very useful for these kind of situations. Even cowardly boy can be suppressed of their fear with this magic.
Still there's time limit on that and every morning her seasickness would return. Yesterday when they were travelling in Tartarus together, she was so gallant and yet none of that could be seen on her current condition right now.
"I'll call Kaori now so hang in there okay." Haruto pat her head gently.
"Uuu milord, you're much too kind..."

Haruto went out to the deck, enjoying the outside air he went to the railing and noticed someone there.
It was a girl looking at the sea with melancholic face. She sighed deeply and did not realize someone approaching her.
"What's wrong Rikka?"
"Haru-kun?"
Rikka was surprised and looked at the black haired boy next to her that currently making a puzzled and concerned face on her.
Shaking her head, she smiled bitterly as she opened her mouth.
"It's nothing, I'm just thinking about something."
"...Your condition seemed strange lately. If you don't mind won't you tell me what's bothering you?"
He snuggled closer to her and faced the seemingly endless blue sea ahead of them. A pair of handsome young man and beautiful young woman, the other passengers here could only stare at them enviously as the combination was so perfect.
"Hehe, you actually paid a lot of attention to me isn't it?" She said with teasing tone.
"Of course, you're my lovely beloved girlfriend after all." Haruto responded with similar tone.
"Y-You, geez... I guess it's hard for me to win against you in teasing each other...."
She admitted her lost with red face. She laughed inside her heart when she remembered how bad their relationships were when they first met, to think it turned out this way, fate is really mysterious.
"....I'm thinking about my family." She said.
"!"
Haruto was startled and widened his eyes, he looked at the melancholic expression on Rikka's face and his heart felt tightened.
"Actually, I was thankful that I came here and able to meet with you again, even now it still has not changed at all. But at the same time I can't help but feel worried about my family back home, are they alright? Are they currently searching for me? Could it be even right now they're crying waiting for me to go home? As time passed here that kind of questions haunted my mind more and more...."
"...."
Haruto kept silence and listened to her with serious face.
"My younger sister is a crybaby, she often bullied by her schoolmates and usually it was supposed to be me that handles that kind of situation. My dad passed away long ago and my mom had to work hard alone for all of us that's why no one can be on her side besides me. I can't but feel so worried...." She sighed with a sad face.
"....Your sister, how old is she right now?" Haruto asked.
"She should have her 14th birthday two weeks ago."
"I see..."
14 years old means she's still in 2nd year of middle school, can she really take care of herself when her reliable older sister suddenly disappeared? Haruto didn't know the answer.
They turned silence as the atmosphere became gloomy.
At this time Haruto turned his head behind and saw Elsie and Kaori tending on the pale faced Selianna. And then after Kaori cast her magic, her condition looks a lot better immediately.
Looking at Elsie and Kaori, especially the latter, a flash appeared on his eyes as he pondered to himself. Seeing this, Rikka made a bewildered look.
"Haru-kun, what's wrong?"
"...is it possible.....no that...but perhaps..."
Haruto didn't answer and murmured to himself, Rikka couldn't understand what he's thinking right now.
Before long he raised his head and faced her with a serious face while gripping her shoulders.
"Rikka."
"Y-Yes..?" Rikka was taken aback from the serious eyes of Haruto.
"I still don't know whether I should say this or not as I'm not too confident but maybe, just maybe...."
"...Huh?"
"Maybe it's possible to return back to earth...."
"Wha...?"
Rikka was stunned from hearing what Haruto said as her mind blanked out for awhile to process the meaning.
"I-Is it true?" She couldn't help but be hopeful on her tone.
"I'm still not sure yet but the possibility is there...no, even if it seems hopeless I'll do something about it. No matter what the cost, I'll let you meet with your family again, I promise."
"B-But you're going to have a lot of problems in the future, if you still have to deal with my problem too, you-"
Rikka's word was cut off by Haruto's lip sealing hers softly and gently. At first she was surprised by the sudden kiss but before long she closed her eyes and reciprocated passionately with a deep kiss on her own.
Even without words, Rikka could understand this kiss was Haruto's answer for her hesitation. No matter how busy or tired he was, his priority will always be for his beloved woman, everything can go to hell for all he care.
For him the lives of his precious people were far more important than everything, even the world itself. If for example the world was endangering them, he wouldn't hesitate to blast the whole world to smithereens.
He didn't think his action as "right", this is merely his own principle and what he wanted to do.
If other people said he was wrong then so be it. Why should he care? And if anyone tried to get on his way, then those people can just fuck their ancestors!
Now that Rikka wanted to see her family again then obviously Haruto would spare no effort in order to grant her wish.
The couple smiled at each other and returned to gaze at the beautiful ocean while snuggling closely with Haruto's holding Rikka's waist and she leaned on his shoulder.
Today too is a wonderful day.
