บท 53: Judgement and Vow (1/2)
"Y-You brat, how did you appear suddenly on my back?"
Bryan raised his body tremblingly after being slammed into his mansion wreckage. His nose was bleeding and a few of his tooth were plucked as the result of being kicked by Haruto, right now he no longer looked like a man of nobility anymore.
His damage was not that severe because the shield managed to supress the majority of the force, saving his skin.
Haruto ignored him and turned his gaze to the sleeping Asami on his arms. His eyes were so melancholic and moved seeing his once lost family sleeping with a peaceful smile on her face.
He could tell that she had gotten thinner, her usual pristine black hair was a little messy from the lack of care while there's black circles on her eyes, indicating her lack of sleep and stress.
His heart felt tightened seeing that, just by looking her condition he knew how she was suffering from his gone.
'For now, please take a rest...just like this...'
He said in his heart while caressing her cheek softly, hoping for her to at least be pardoned even for a little from the pain she suffered all this time.
Seeing how Rikka seemed quite close with Asami which shocked Haruto very much, he guessed that Rikka must be taking care of her during his absence.
He must made sure to thank her a lot after this. But for now....
Once again he changed his gaze and glared at the middle aged man still grimacing from enduring the pain on his face.
"S-Sugimura-kun, are you alright?"
"You're not...injured?"
The voice of his friends could be heard from his side. He looked at them and felt relieved they're both alright. Bryan may not be strong but he's quite cunning so he definitely feel worried.
"No, not really, I'm really messed up from the fight with Ifrit you know?"
"R-Really? Are you alright??" Rikka gasped and dashed to him checking his body. While she got close to him, only this time she noticed Haruto was 'different' so she tilted her head.
"Sugimura-kun, what happened to you? you became a westerner?"
"...."
That reaction was kind of different than he thought, so he was speechless. Right he's not in his normal state so it's only natural that she's confused. Selianna did not show any reaction though since she already seen his transformation multiple times.
"...It's a long story. Anyway, that guy didn't seem like your ordinary spoiled nobleman huh?"
He recalled the magical shield that block his kick before. It was very tough and although he used quite a lot of his strength on that kick, that shield did not fully break but at least he injured Bryan.
"...I'm sorry Sugimura-kun, we cannot defeat him..."
"...Right, how shameful of me."
Both the girls became gloomy when he mentioned about Bryan because they could not 'deal' with him properly and even just now he's the one who saved the day.
But Haruto just smiled gently to them.
"What are you talking about? You made Nee-san return back to her senses right? I'm very thankful for that, and I can tell you did your best so why's the gloomy face?"
"That's this young girl's doing, she's the who woke up your sister while I cannot do anything....."
"No, you also help me a lot so..." Rikka denied Selianna's self-mocking statement.
"That's not true, I did nothing worthy of mention. That's why you have nothing to thank me for, Haruto."
"...."
He saw through the dejected eyes of Selianna and sighed deeply, no matter what he said it would just went out to her other ear. So he approached her and put his hands on her cheeks before pulling them off strongly.
"O-Ouch! Ouch! Ouch! Z-Zhat Hurshtss!! W-Whaht aer yoeh dhoingg??"
Selianna flailed her arms from the pain on her cheeks and asked Haruto in bewilderment with a strange voice due to being pulled on her cheeks. Haruto released her cheeks and pat her head gently.
"This is your punishment, for not doing your job properly and with this I forgave you. Made sure to do better next time alright? Or I'll punish you again, next time until you cried like a baby."
"....Is that supposed to be a threat? You fool... But I'll remember your words at least...."
Selianna became dumbfounded for a second but she realized what he's thinking so she answered shyly while feeling warm on her heart.
What she needed was not a consolation but a punishment for failing her mission so Haruto's way of doing it by giving her a 'gentle' punishment and threat made her moved.
Rikka smiled gently at the sight, she was glad Haruto did not change at all and still the same gentle boy as ever. She too once had a similar problem like Selianna but Haruto too gave her a 'gentle' punishment and cheered her up.

"*Cough* Hey you all, can you guys not flirting in a time like this I wonder? I wonder?"
"!!"
A silver haired girl stood near them and cleared her throat, interrupting them with an irritated face.
"Who!?" Rikka did not recognize the girl and was flustered.
"Kaori..?" Selianna knew about her.
"K-Kaori!" Haruto completely forget about her.
Just before when he finished his battle against Ifrit and fatally injured on the verge of death, Kaori arrived on his place already finished dealing with the attackers back on Selianna's villa. She quickly used the [Regeneration Magic] and restored Haruto's body in a few minutes. Coming to this place was not difficult for her with her [Disintegration] magic to bypass all the barriers effortlessly with the uproar on the city, no one was there to stop her from entering.
She came here at the same time as Haruto but he leaped fast to save Asami while she followed him on her pace and stayed in the sky not wanting to disturb them but overtime it was getting more annoying since they completely disregarded her (only Haruto actually).
"S-Sorry, I got lost in a moment." Haruto rubbed his cheek awkwardly.
Rikka was surprised seeing a mesmerizing girl suddenly appeared and Haruto seemed to know about her so she got curious, yup curious, no other feelings intended!
Right, didn't he also seem close to Selianna? Heeh....
Haruto felt a chill from his back, not knowing Rikka currently smiling at him with a smile that not a smile.
"*Cough* A-Alright, let's leave the introduction for later shall we? We have something more important to do." He said, while clearing his throat.
The others nodded and turned their gaze back at Bryan who's currently glaring at them hatefully. He was full of rage but remembering he still had something up his sleeve he calmed himself down. Haruto could notice his thought and mocked him in his heart.
"I know your aim for trying to bring back Asami, young man. But it's useless as I still have the remote control on the bracelet and it would never be able to be removed from her hand! Not even I could remove it!!" He sneered at Haruto while showing off the remote on his hand.
Haruto could steal and destroyed the remote at anytime but he decided to play along on the loser's game a bit.
"Hoo, why is that?"
"Of course, it's because if you removed the bracelet forcefully she would die because it was connected to her soul! So she would wear that bracelet for her entire life!!"
"Here I thought what are you gonna say but is that it? Hmm, connected to her soul eh? Then there's no problem... *snap*" Haruto snorted and snapped his fingers, giving a signal to a certain person.
*Slash*
Then a ray of silver light cut through the bracelet on Asami's hand and split it in two. The bracelet let out sparks of red electricity and fell to the ground just like that.
"W-W-What??" Bryan was astonished.
Kaori held a large black sword on her hand. It was that sword that cut through the bracelet like a tofu. Asami who was freed from the device was still breathing calmly on her sleep and that's what shocked Bryan the most. The silver haired girl stared mockingly at Bryan.
"Thank you Kaori." Haruto thanked Kaori.
"Sure." She nodded while smiling.
"No way!! How did you do that!?" Bryan was almost hysterical by now, his most proud device was rendered ineffective just like that.
"Do you think I will answer that? So, got any more tricks yet?" Haruto snorted and sneered at him.
Of course it was a simple thing for Kaori with her [Disintegration] to cut through the bracelet and severed the connection to Asami's soul with [Soul Magic]. For her, such machine was a mere toy.
The moment Haruto learnt the trick of the bracelet from Bryan's mouth he laughed immediately at him in his heart. Right now Kaori the strongest healer already here on his side, what's to be afraid off? Even in the worst case that Asami had to die, she could revive her back in instant.
As long as the person did not die for too long or have their body crushed into countless pieces, it was possible to resurrect them by repairing their body with [Regeneration Magic] and placed back their soul using [Soul Magic], that was the reviving method Kaori used.
"Y-Y-You damn brat...!!! GFUH!?" Bryan gnashed his teeth and clenched his fist furiously. He was so mad right now and really wanted to cut all the people there to pieces. But then Haruto already moved in front of him and kicked his abdomen, letting him fall to the ground.
"MFUH!? AAGHHH!!"
Haruto stomped on his face and ground him using his foot, sound of bone cracking could be heard from his skull and Bryan screamed in agony. He didn't even show any emotion and pushed his strength further.
*Crack* *Crack*
"AAAARRGHHHH!!!!" Bryan's voice increase into a screeching scream of agony.
"You blabbered too much, loser dog. Since you don't have anything left to say then you should just obediently die."
"W-W-Whaiff, Fleash, lesh me liveshh (W-W-Waitt, please, let me livee)!!" Bryan begged his voice was distorted because almost of his entire teeth was broken.
"Die."
He said coldly and raised his leg high, attempting to finish Bryan by shattering his skull, he wouldn't let him off alive for what he had done to Asami. Rikka too didn't even care what Haruto did because she shared the same feeling. Perhaps if it was her she would cut off his limbs one by one first before finishing him off but Haruto was not as coldblooded as her.
"Wait, Haruto. Let me do it." Selianna stopped him.
"..." He knew what she wanted and hesitated a bit but someone else answered her instead.
"No, Selianna. This kind of job is not for you to finish."
"What!?" Selianna was shocked from a voice from somewhere.
Haruto's eyebrows twitched and he felt something from his sense.
"Be careful, someone's coming." He warned the other girls and looked at into his left.
They saw three unknown men appeared from the darkness, Haruto was surprised since he didn't realize two of those three men already being this close before he could sense them. Or perhaps those men purposefully revealed themselves? If that's the case then they're dangerous, at least two of them.
The three men stopped and Haruto and the others could finally see their figures.
"Your Majesty? and....Father?" Selianna's eyes widened when she saw them.
