บท 90: The Coliseum
I was sleeping peacefully, when a yelling right on my ear woke me up.
Ruby- Rainy!! we are on the coliseum!!
Rainy- wah!! Ruby! Don't yell at people on the ear!
Ruby- but it worked!
Rainy- ugh...
I got out of my room, and saw that we were on the ground, next to the coliseum.
Harry- hey! Rainy! Here we are.
Rainy- yeah... I just have one little problem...
Juny- what?
Rainy- I don't have anything to bet!
Juny- eh!?
Rainy- I only have my conjuring stone. And I'm not betting it! I need it to fight without magic.
Sirius- conjuring a rapier from thin air is doing magic, Rainy.
Rainy- but they won't know if I conjure a sheath and I just maintain the rapier conjured for all the time I'll stay on the coliseum.
Juny- I can give you some weapons to bet. They are not that good... but they are from other world so...
Rainy- really? Where do you have them?
Juny- here.
Then Juny just reached out to a hand sized portal in front of her, and got out four giant shurikens.
Juny- they are my old weapons. Worse than my actual Giant Shuriken, but they have quality nonetheless.
Rainy- ...how did you do that?
Juny- ? oh! It's a pocket dimension. I used the same type of space magic we always use. It's just another creative way to use it.
Rainy- hmm... I'll have to learn that later. Anyway, thanks for the shurikens! Everyone, see you later!
I jumped off the airship, and begun to walk towards the coliseum. I conjured Joyeuse (made of mithril, by the way.) and a silver sheath for it. When I reached the entrance, I opened the door and the inside looked good. A lot of warriors going from one place to another. I went to the receptionist.
Rainy- hello! I would like to participate but it's my first time. How can I do this?
Receptionist-... You have to submit the thing you are betting and wait for someone to accept with another item. Or you can go to that list over there, and challenge someone that has an item you want.
Rainy- oh! Thanks! I'll see the list first then.
[10 minutes later]
Rainy- (the only two bets that look good enough, are the gold hairpin, and the Excalipoor. The first one because the one that submitted it said that when Kefka was still alive, this hairpin could halve the mana cost of everything. And the Excalipoor, only because the text said ''bwahahaha, I'm the greatest swordman on the worlds! Come! Fight me! And bet your own sword.'') I'm not bettin my sword... I can't.
After some thought. I accepted the bet of the Gold Hairpin in exchange of one of my Giant Shurikens and the other guy accepted. Once I got to the arena, I was a little nervous because the arena was huge, and there were a lot of people looking to the fights. But whatever I was feeling, got tainted with disappointment when I fought the other guy. He was pretty good with his sword, but he was garbage with his speed and power. I ended the combat pretty easily with my rapier, and I felt like someone was observing me even when I got out of the arena.
Rainy- hello! I just won my fight. Where can I get my reward?
Receptionist- here. What was the item?
Rainy- a Gold Hairpin.
Receptionist- let's see... here. Take it.
Rainy- thanks!
I got out of the coliseum, and sat on the grass a good distance away from the place. Then I equipped the Gold Hairpin, and it looked good.
Rainy- (hmm... I prefer silver... whatever.)
I got up, I used Command! Magic! Fire! And it only used 4 of mana.
Rainy- sweet! It works!
Odín- (careful!)
Rainy- !!
I dodged to the left, and I saw a naginata dig into the ground I was on. Then a red blur appeared, and took the naginata.
???- amazing! Not only you have a nice sword at such a young age, you are also fast and strong!
Rainy- who? The Daijuroku!?
Odín- (no... this is worse... he is-)
Gilgamesh- I'm the strongest swordman on all worlds! Gilgamesh!
Odín- (he won't kill you. But you have to be very careful. He's really goofy but strong. And he's obsessed with collecting all the swords he can... or weapons in general.)
Rainy- ... so you are Gilgamesh. The strongest swordman? Well! I'm Rainy Lionheart! The most powerful witch in the history!
Gilgamesh- oho! I like it! Come on! Show me what you've got!
