บท 137: Avenge her
Pink Villa
"Alright, this room will be specially cleaned and decorated from now on. Nobody must enter here without my permission", Eddie ordered the maids.
The maids bowed with respect and quickly fled the place. Eddie adjusted her glasses and entered the room. There she picked up a photo frame and ran her fingers over it, "Alice, where are you?"
In the photo, Alice was happily smiling with a broad grin. Her hair gently swelled in the background making her look warm and adorable.
A tear slid down her cheek and fell on the frame. Within these four months, everything in her life had been turned upside down. Whatever she was doing today, was for the sake of her dead mother, Lilith.
Her mother disclosed on her death bed that Alice was her biological sister. Her very own sister! All along, Daniel, her brother had misunderstood this mother of hers. But, after that day, it became all clear as glass. The one who pushed Daniel's mom to her death was not her mother but her twin sister, instead. The one who murdered Alice's dad was also the same person.
The one behind Alice's kidnapping was also the same person. That day, Alice and her mother suffered because of that woman! Eddie and Daniel were fuming inside, while Papa Adley had a nervous breakdown recently. All this while, they were searching for this despicable woman, but she evaded them effortlessly. Lilith had suffered fatal injuries when she was rescued. She succumbed to her injuries within two days. Alice had sustained some minor injuries and was responding well to her treatment. She had also accepted her mother's fate. But the fire at the City Hospital devastated everything. The fire took many lives. Many dead bodies were retrieved but many weren't. As a result, they didn't know Alice's fate.
"Eddie", someone called. She snapped out of her daze and looked outside. Her face was streaked with tears as she saw Daniel and Jake standing outside.
Daniel pulled a long face, "No matter what, I will avenge Alice and your mom."
Then, he turned to Jake, "You two better get going."
Jake nodded and escorted Eddie out of the villa. Daniel stood frozen for a long while. Then, he entered the room and picked up the same photo. He looked at it with a complicated emotion, before he spoke up, "I cannot imagine a life ahead without you. Why did you leave?"

V Villa
Emily unlocked the main door and stepped in. Then, she turned on the lights. The sudden brightness glared at Baby Doll. She shielded her eyes and went in after she felt she had adjusted to the changes around her.
Emily spun around and opened her arms wide, "Welcome to Emily's abode!"
Baby Doll was rather irritated with her way of fussing over every little thing. But, for now, she had to keep her annoyance to herself. Baby Doll clutched her tiny handbag and walked in. The living room was rather grand. It was a typical type with a retro vibe. The furniture looked cozy and comfy. Emily's huge wall portrait served as a backdrop against the retro styles. She took a look around and took a deep breath. Emily came around suddenly and held her shoulders, "Are you ready to start anew?"
Baby Doll gulped and she felt like the head was spinning. Her ears resonated with various words.
"So, this's your new beginning. Are you ready?"
Baby Doll was panting heavily as the words continued resonating. It was the same, familiar voice.
"I love you & will always love you till the very end of this world."
The words overlapped each other and made Baby Doll feel she was hearing things but at the same time, her face was covered in cold sweat. Her world was spinning.
Then, another voice interrupted. It sounded right beside her ears. She turned her head in a dizzy stupor, only watching Emily's lips move. She was unable to interpret a single word.
"So, this's your new beginning. Are you ready?"
"I love you & will always love you till the very end of this world."
The words continued reverberating in her ears. She looked up and she felt the ceiling spinning around. She turned to look at Emily, who had just become a blurry sight, spouting words she failed to interpret.
Baby Doll finally felt that she could not hold any longer. Her vision clouded and very soon everything went black. She collapsed into Emily's arms. Her face darkened and she slapped her face, "Hey! Wake up."
