บท 44: Student Council
Kuoh Academy!
I've been here a couple of times already. This is where the Sitri team and Gremory team have their base of operations. Extending their hands to fulfill the wishes of those who are in need, of course, there is a price to pay for needs delivered. Nothing comes free in this world.
Nothing was free in my old world either. Sometimes I wonder if I'll be strong enough to leave this place and pave my way in the different dimension. It's seems that the journey will be a long one the more I contemplate it.
My head turns to view the girl next to me. Reya Kusaka, whom I've come in contact with accidentally. At first I believed that she was Sona Sitri's bishop but not yet. Reya is still very much like myself, human, with some extraordinary gifts.
Reya Kusaka is a witch or a magician. Whatever you would consider her as, the point is that she is someone gifted in the use of magic.
Thinking about it, there are organizations out there that are not part of the three main factions. Heaven, Grigori and the devil faction, respectively. Outside of the three factions exists another, the magicians association. I'm not particularly familiar with what they are called but I remember that they tend to contract themselves to devils or vice versa.
Myself and Reya Kusaka pass through the entrance, entering the school property. I decided to remove my hand from the place it rested, right above the girl's buttocks.
"Sorry about that, I just wanted us to getaway from the crowd."
I didn't know if my excuse was plausible but the girl next to me merely smiled back. Her cheeks were still very much tinged with red.
Well, I don't have the ability to read minds, so I can't conceive what the girl is thinking. Turning away from her, I take in the liveliness of the school.
From a former girls school, the number of females still retained the majority of the population. I see many of them walking around, some grouped up sharing their stories.
Reya and I didn't attract much attention like we did when we were outside but that didn't mean we didn't go unnoticed.
A pair of eyes seemed to pierce me, in fact, I felt three pairs of eyes piercing me. When I glanced at the direction of the hostility, I found three dudes looking at me funny.
Unfortunately, I knew them. Issei, Motohama and Matsuda, the pervert trio. What am I suppose to say to them?
I didn't have anything to say, I showed them a thumbs up and carried on. Continuing to walk along side Reya.
"REMEMBER, SHARING IS CARING!"
Suddenly, someone screamed, I recognized that voice. It can only be from Matsuda. I glance back at him.
There, the pervert trio give me a thumbs up. I'd consider it normal had it been anyone else but these guys, looking at their dirty smiles makes me want to run away.
I turned, turned to Reya and ushered her along, "Let's go this way."
Pointing out the direction that I took to meet Sona on my previous visit, we make our way to the student council room. Maybe I should call it the Sitri team's gathering point.
Not long after, climbing stairs and passing passageways. We come to a door. I can sense the presence of many entities on the other side, they all have something in common. They're devils!
"Get ready."
I tell that to Reya then I knock on the door, I don't wait for a reply and open up straight after.
"Ah!"
"Huh!"
"Who dares to just walk... SESA!"
It seems that I surprised everyone. Did they not sense my presence? At least determine the presence of Reya.
"Good morning." I greeted, checking all present in the room.
The Tsu girls are here, Tsubaki and Tsubasa. Momo Hanakai is present as well. Behind the massive desk I can see my girlfriend, Sona Sitri... Sauna Shitori is her alias at the moment.
I hadn't seen Sona since our date. Now that I have her in front of me, my heart happens to be beating harder.
I look up to her, trying to meet her eyes. As if we were synchronized, her eyes met mine.
Sona closes her eyes and doesn't open them again. I don't know what to think.
I see the Kaichou of Kuoh Academy lift a tea cup that was placed before her. She brought up the steaming beverage to her luscious mouth, tilting the cup she let the liquid flow between her lips.
"Ahn!" Sona flinched. It's looks like she burnt her tongue, I can tell by her reaction, she stuck her tongue out.
'Serves her right!' Someone says within my mind. That someone happens to be the true form of my feelings.
"Good morning, Sesa " Tsubaki cuts in.
I say again, "Good morning." Walking in at my own leisure. Reya Kusaka follows behind me, surprising the student council. Even Sona looks surprised after recovering from her sudden pain.
Can they not sense Reya's presence? I became curious about the girl's ability.
"I brought someone, let me introduce you. Her name is Reya Kusaka." I introduced
"Kusaka?!"
"You know her?" I cut in after Sona.
Sona said, "I have heard of a Kusaka before."
My eyes happens to meet Sona's once again. However, she calmly closes them again. I can't figure out what those actions are meant to mean.
What is she trying to do? Avoid me?
"Yea', Reya has some trouble. We were hoping that you guys can help."
Gesturing to the girl in a sun dress, I inform her to plead her case.
"Yes," She bowed. "Reya Kusaka is my name. Heiress to the house of Sitri, please heed my request."
"My dear grandma met a mishap the day before yesterday. We witches have minded our business for years and years but now my grandma had been captured by enemies." Reya sadly continued.
"My grandma, she was taken captive by the people of the church. I'm willing to do anything. Please... Please save my grandma!"
Woh! The church is involved? I see that Reya didn't raise her head once as she spoke. Tears dropped on the carpet beneath her feet. In my opinion, going after the church seems like a tall order.
Nevertheless, since Reya Kusaka will become a devil due to fate, I believe things will work out. Luckily for me I came here first, I imagine I'd be in trouble if I agreed to help all by myself.
I had a hard lesson when I went up against those beast beings before. Had I been alone, I might've already kicked the bucket. That was the first time I've picked up a 'short coming' from the Mask of Deception.
"You know what you're asking, right?" Sona said. The Sitri heiress placed both elbows on the desk, after crossing her fingers she rested her chin on the back of her hands. Sona was looking very serious from what I see.
"The three factions, Heaven and the fallen angels. Along with us devils, have remained in a dead lock for several centuries. It is a truce that we like to keep maintaining." Tsubaki informed.
After her, Sona spoke again. "Basically, you are asking us to start a skirmish with the church which in turn could start an all out war between devils and angels. I don't believe that it will be in our best interest."
As harsh as ever, Sona Sitri doing her best at being a king. What she says is reasonable from my point of view, no ideas come to mind to get Sona to change her mind.
Reya begins to shiver, turning away from the others. She's about to leave the room.
"Even if I can't hel-"
Hmm! Did Sona say something? Before Reya can run away, I position myself so that she runs into me. Practically, the girl appeared to have run into my arms.
"Cough, cough! Li, like I was saying. Even if I can't help you, there is someone who can. Whether you can convince her is something I can't help you with." Sona said, looking agitated all of a sudden.
She places a hand under the desk. I can't see what she's up to. Sona then brings her hand back with a small pamphlet in it.
"This might help you." She said, passing it over to Tsubaki.
I then receive it after that. Studying the pamphlet, I find a magic circle drawn on it. It's not like the teleportation circle that I've seen the Sitri team use and it isn't like the pamphlet the Gremory team has. At the center of the magic circle, the symbol of a snake is present.
"This reminds me of Leviathan." I considered.
Tsubaki replied to my statement, "That is indeed the summoning circle of Satan, the strongest female devil. Serafall Leviathan."
"That's awesome!" I said, "Hear that Reya. Satan can help us."
"That's if you can convince her." Tsubaki blurted, looking all smug but I ignore her.
"I have my ways." I say, lifting the pamphlet high above my head. "It time to call little Levi."
"NOOOOOO!!!"
