After the movers unpacked Justin's things into the spare room in Sam's apartment, he hardly left it for weeks. Sam did her best to get him to eat and go outside but he was completely catatonic. She was the one left taking care of Cookie between her classes and homework because Justin was locked in his own world of despair, unable to notice anything happening around him.
Emily had blocked his number and social media accounts so Sam, feeling righteous anger on her cousin's behalf, went into his accounts and blocked her right back. That way if she changed her mind she wouldn't be able to contact him.
It seemed like she had her doubts since Emily had tried contacting Sam multiple times before she blocked her too. Justin had been hurt enough.
He didn't need to get his hopes up for no reason. A clean break was better.
He would get over it eventually…right? Sam certainly hoped so. She had never seen him like this. It scared her.
I've never had my heart broken but this is basically what my mom was like when my dad left in case any of y'all are thinking his reaction is extreme. My aunt had to come take care of my siblings and I for a couple months. On a more cheerful note, guess who's in 5th place in the writing contest!! Please keep those votes coming; it needs to last through the end of the week and we're only halfway there. You guys are the best~
