บท 9: Eyes

"Huh?" A questioning looing look was directed towards Helen.

"Your eyes... They were green... I think" Helen said.

" Oh ya that happens sometimes.. forget about that, get up and get ready" Replied Athena as she walked towards her bathroom leaving a dazed Helen.

Athena stepped down the stairs as she saw the sweet sugary scene of her 'mother' sending away her 'father' for work.

"Hey, mom." Greeted Athena after her mom turned back and started walking towards the lounge.

Maria replied with a nod. "How was Helen... did you guys get closer to each other?"

"I tried my best." With a slight smile replied Athena with a solemn expression.

"Well try harder...Her mother has left her quite the money." Disappointed at her daughter, Maria forgot all her facade.

"Hmm" giving a simple reply. Athena watched as her mother went to her room. 'This sly bi***', thought Athena.

That woman is still probably shopping and looking for ways to spend cash. She knew all too well how woman's thoughts were laid.

It's probably to meet some woman's and show off her purchases and money.

Probably gonna blame it on, saying that I needed a dress, that wouldn't even fit my childlike body.

Soon Athena walked to the dining table and waited for her sister.

In the next minute, her sister had arrived and was sitting in front of her with a huge smile.

They continued there breakfast in a quite but harmonious silence.

As Helen finished the last bite of her break with a satisfied smile.

Athena began talking.

"I want you to ask Steward Xuan to come back to work. I know he will come back if you ask him."

Helen looked up with a surprised face. But agreed, she knew her sister had reasons and she had complete faith in her sister.

In her past life... No. was it even her past life? She felt like it was more of a vague dream. But she felt the pain of all that happened.

Even if it was a dream, it could be a possibility, because of how Maria had treated her when she was younger. The memories from her dream/past life... were all coming true.

This could not be a mere coincidence.

From her memories, she knew that Steward Xuan was an honest and loyal guy.

After the death of Helen's mother, he left in rage learning that after just 6 months after the death of Helen's mother, the master of the house was getting married.

From her memories, she knew that the steward would come back for Helen. He had stayed with her tolerating the mother-daughter pair for the sake of the young girl.

Xuan was a loyal guy, who despite the torture was willing to stand up and stay in this disgusting household.

Athena knew with his help, it will be easier for her to live in this house.

Another week went by, were quietly. The mother tried to bond with stepdaughter and the father went to work while spending family time.

On the outside, it looked like a happy family. But Athena knew far too well, how corrupt her 'parents' were.

Steward Xuan was, supposed to come back tomorrow after a lot of convincing Helen did, Han had allowed the steward to come back.

Athena had her plan and she knew she had to put them into action soon because the term holidays were soon finishing and she was going to get busier and busier.
