บท 26: 'High' rides
The six teenagers are sitting on the now empty picnic blanket in the shade of an old oak tree growing next to the parking lot not twenty feet from their cars. As Larry was mixing up ranch dip to go with the chips Tom started making bologna sandwiches.
"Mike hand me a Dr. Pepper and the cherry sour straws." Chelsea says while stretching her hands out. "While you're in the cooler could you throw me a mountain dew?" Larry asks as Mike get up. "Ooh I'll take a cheerwine!" Mari shouts after him.
"mph" Mike grunted as he put the cooler on his shoulder and carried it over so everyone besides Chelsea could get their own drinks. "Here you go." Mike hands her the soda and candy while Larry's and Mari look at him in disdain.
""What about us?!?"" they say in perfect unison. "At least you don't have to walk.." Mike replied with out even sparing a glance. Vic laughed a little as she reached in the cooler and threw Larry his mountain dew. "There you go lover boy." as Larry smiles at Vic Mari huffs before leaning over and fishes around in the ice water with her hand until she found her prize.
"Hey Mari could you throw me one?" Tom asks after making the fourth sandwich. "Whatchu want?" "Dealers choice." Mari swirled her hand around in the ice again before pulling up another cheerwine. "Catch!" Mari Shouted as she tossed the soda Tom's direction.
Tom merely placed his hand up with out even looking thinking he was going to look cool in front of everyone... Thunk!
A few minutes later and much laughter Mari is apologizing while she rubs Tom's forehead where a big bump started rising. "It's ok Mari really I told you to throw it I should have looked up."
"But, but, but... now your gonna have a bruise and I caused it.." "Don't worry Mari Tom got dropped on his head way harder than that when he was a baby so he'll be fine." Mike said as he took another shot at Tom.
"Next time you sleep at my house your gonna wake up with Mrs. Crawley cuddling up next to you in your sleeping bag..." Tom threatened Mike as he put the Can that hit him against his bump.. the cold metal felt good.
After everyone ate they cleaned up their Mess and piled into the jeep to light up, as Larry was rolling Vic took a little baggie out of her purse. "You guys ready to really party?" once Larry finished rolling she handed everyone what looked like blue Smarties with big X's on them.
"Cheers!" """""Cheers!""""" Everyone popped their 'Candies' and Mike Lit up. As they passed the blunt around Larry couldn't hold it any longer. "I thought you guys weren't dating?" He says while staring accusingly at Tom and Mari.
"Well we weren't.." Mari started slowly "But these two @$$hole$ showed up and it made me realize how jealous I would be if she started dating someone.." Tom said while reaching for the blunt with one hand and Maris hand with the other.
"Was one of them missing a shoe?" Mike asks out of curiosity. "I wouldn't know we were at the water park all they wore were some swimming trunks and white T-shirts. why?"
"Because we had two @$$hole$ bother us right after I asked Chelsea out. I was just curious if it was the same guys." "Well I know an easy way to find out." Larry chimed in while pointing out the back window. "did both of you deal with them?"
When Tom and Mike turned around they saw man number one and man number two walking out the gate and heading to an old Ford explorer. ""That's them!!"" Tom and Mike shout in harmony.
"Well looks like Cupid hires goons to do his match making these days." Mari says as Tom passes to her. "So Mike how did you ask Chelsea out?" Tom asks partly out of curiosity partly looking for ammo to use against him later.
"Gambling.." Chelsea says as Mike opens his mouth. "I would rather say she was so impressed with my gaming skills she had to say yes." Mike says with a grin. "So you made a bet on a video game? what if you lost?" Larry asks quizzically.
"Well the bet was one command from the winner to the loser so worst case possible embarrassment?" Mike says while looking to Chelsea for confirmation. "Damn right I was gonna make you do the numa numa dance in the background the next time I streamed on twitch." Chelsea replies with her arms crossed and a grin on her face.
"..... You know if I didn't already plan out something amazing for you tonight I would make you do that instead." Mike said as he reached into the back for the cooler, fighting his was through Victoria's stuffed animals and pulled out a coca cola.
After passing the blunt around until it was almost too small to hold Tom grabbed a quick connect fitting from the center console, and placed the roach inside. Once the blunt was completely burned out they jumped out of the jeep and made their way back inside.
"Soo are we all splitting up again or one big group this time?" Chelsea asks as they go through the gate. "Let's stick together this time and just hit everything that has a short line." Vic suggests and everyone agrees.
"You guys Realize what ride we're closest to right now don't you?" Tom asks as an evil grin spreads across his face. "Sh!t." "uuuuggh." "C'mon Tom do we have too?" Vic and Chelsea groan while Mari tries asking Tom to change his mind."
"Hey everyone agreed that we should hit 'Every' ride with a short line.. don't get much shorter than none." As the teenagers walk through the maze of ropes used to keep the line orderly Tom had a look on his face Like the cat that caught the Canary.

Sum12hate Any of you actually been on Dropzone before? think of it like and elevator that has no walls just a bunch of seats that strap you in. It slowly drags you up to the top, Your high enough that people look like ants as you stay at the top a gentle breeze blows and the sun warms your skin and Click! screaming, wind rushing past your face, stomach flies into your throat and you feel your butt lift off the seat as your shoulders press against the straps then.. you're at the bottom 3 second fall tops
