บท 12: The charging mountain
"The UA sports festival is where we show off out little eggs of the hero world so get ready and look at the main event class 1-A!" In a cubicle above the crowd, overlooking UA Present Mic with his everlasting loudness spoke into a microphone trying to boost the already sky-high hype of the crowd
In the meantime, the different students from the different classes came thru the gates into the UA stadium
Seeing them the crowd went wild disregarding what Present Mic was saying so that they can see the heroes of tomorrow
The students, on the other hand, are nervous, being stared at by such a big crowd who will alongside heroes be evaluating them for their performance in the festival, it is scary to them, this will decide their future
So they began talking, few were the ones who talked about anything else other than the sports festival, their moving mouths created a booming chore whose noise is on par with the crowd
Suddenly a hero appears on the stage, with her lustful curves, long legs and beautiful face which knows not a speck of age she is definitely a demoness made by the devil to seduce men and be the envy of all women
She is the 18+ hero Midnight Lady, once she appeared the students stopped talking about the festival and started to talk about Midnight, the perverted ones were especially loud
"Silence! I am the judge of this competition but before that student representative Mike come up!" Seeing that no one was listening to her Midnight decided to take some drastic actions
With a crack of her whip that boomed through the stadium and with a yell of her enchanting voice all the audience and the students became silent
'As expected.' Rolling their eyes the students accepted this but they were bored, yes Mike is handsome, powerful, intelligent, has a nice personality and is overall the role model student but everybody knows about him and his nice personality, with Mike on stage it's going to get boring, the only thing Mike will probably say is "Have fun on the festival it doesn't matter who wins."
But the crowd unlike the students and the heroes was confused once they saw a blind bandaged boy come up to the stage they thought that it was one of UA's performances or practical jokes but looking at how the student walked yet he didn't stumble and how the other students were silently agreeing to him being chosen a twinkle of intrigue appeared in certain audiences eyes but for the rest who didn't noticed such happenings had their mood dampened
Although discrimination had become almost nonexistent in the world a blind person is always considered weaker than a healthy person it's just common sense so the audience didn't expect much
"Hello, there I'm Mike. I hope that everybody will have fun in this competition and that everyone will have good execution. We have all trained long and hard so that we can participate in this festival and everybody has the hopes of winning and being number 1 but..." At first, Mike started with an easy going speech sounding like the usual Mike but later he trailed off
To the audience, this is nothing they haven't already heard, the nice speeches about how the having fun parts are better than winning in a competition
While the audience was disappointed the students were confused Mike didn't execute anything like a speech about friendship, the future or comradeship which was expected of him after all Mike is known as a nice guy
"I will be number one." The students are right if it was Mike before the incident with nomu he definitely would have talked about friendship and how participating and having fun is better than winning but that is Mike before Nomu
The fight with Nomi brought Mike to understand how fragile life was and when Mike was sinking to the bottom of the pool the ice cold water reminded him that he didn't achieve his dream even worse he died without showing what he is truly capable of
So after making it thru the ordeal alive, Mike decided to get bolder and do what he wants to do, screw the plot that he tried to preserve, screw class 1-A, the heroes and the villains Mike decided to do whatever he wants to do
So while making his way on to the stage Mike thought about what type of speech to give that is until he remembers Bakugo's speech
Mike wanted to say it, he wanted to say what Bakugo said, Mike remembered what Bakugo said in the classroom 2 weeks ago "If you are on top like it matters" so Mike decided to be on top of everyone else
"Aaaaaa!" Immediately the drowsiness and foul mood of the audience was blasted away by Mike's sky-high arrogant statement
'If he is so arrogant he has to have some way of backing that up right?' Those are the audience's thoughts, now a seemingly boring speech given by a seemingly disabled student turned into a matter of controversy and gambling
The heroes and students who knew Mike were dumbfounded with their mouths wide open enough for a fly to fly into it
'So that incident with nomu did change him.' Aizawa the professor of class 1-A sitting besides Present Mic who is currently busy hyping the crowd, even more, is not surprised after all Mike a student had a near-death experience it would be a wonder if he didn't somehow change
"Alright, now that that is out of the way lets begin with the preliminaries. An obstacle race! You have to run a 4 km long road while obstacles will be placed in your way! You can do anything you wish as long as you remain within the race!" Stepping down from the platform with calm steps Mike went to his friends who were staring at him with eyes filled with confusion, and although most people didn't expect this some female students got turned on by Mike's bold approach cupeled with his handsome face which he hides underneath those bandages
After Mike went off the platform Midnight not knowing what type of ripple Mike caused everywhere shouted out the rules or rather lack there off while the lights turned from red to yellow then to green and a buzzing sound was heard indicating the start of the preliminary round the obstacle race
Hearing the sound and seeing the light brought the students out of their stupor and they all began charging thru the gate, most of them running but some of them used their own method of transportation
The gate, however, is too narrow so only a certain number of people can pass it at the time, this is the first filter given by UA, Todoroki sprinted forward on his ice freezing everyone behind him while other heroes used their own travel methods but in the middle of the crowd people were flying sent flying like they are being ramed by a mad bull
Todoroki's ice didn't stop him for even a second, each of his footsteps makes an indent in the ground launching him meter's forward, each time his foot touches the earth it's like an earthquake happens
Whenever someone bumped into him he would be sent flying like they were thrown by an invisible force
Anyone who tried to fight back would scream out in pain if someone punched him they're first broke, each time someone tried to throw him they would fall and be stepped on by him, each time someone tried to use their quirk on him it would backfire
He is like a moving mountain not minding anyone or anything in front of him just charging and charging, everyone seems like an insect in front of such might it's of course Mike
Mike decided to challenge himself with this festival by using only his physical abilities, no skills, powers or techniques solely his overwhelming physical might and that's what he is doing right now just charging thru any opposition that faces him
Before anyone knew it Mike has taken the leading position in the race he was running before Todoroki and everyone else while all the other runners can only see his back
At this sight the crowd went wild, the blind boy who they believed to not be able to even participate in the festival has come to the first place
As usual, humans usually cheer for the underdog and there is no underdog like Mike someone with a disability and someone who is seemingly injured so everyone will naturally cheer for Mike well everyone besides the heroes and students they knew that Mike is not the underdog if anything Mike is the top dog to them
Soon the first obstacle in this obstacle race came the robots from the entrance exam
Some students were having trouble with the robots maybe because their quirk doesn't work on the robots or because they are just not capable enough but it didn't matter to Mike
Whenever a robot under the 0 point robot came Mike would just swat them away with his arm or not even that he would just ram thru them completely destroying the robots that is just how overwhelming Mike's physical abilities are
But that didn't go unnoticed by the 0 point robots and one soon came and attacked Mike with its fist trying to turn Mike into a paste but how could Mike allow himself to be beaten like that
The robot with its overwhelming might which would frighten any normal student came and attacked Mike with its full force creating overwhelming wind pressure just by swinging its fist at Mike
The crowd went wild seeing this spectacle, they question if Mike is going to make it thru this obstacle which many students would succumb to
Feeling that the fist from the 0 point robot is coming towards him Mike jumped to the side making the first crash into the ground raising a lot of dust and sending rocks flying everywhere
Feeling the location of the first Mike rushed towards it before grabbing the hand of the robot and running up the arm with such speed that the robot couldn't catch him while some of the students, heroes, and crowd with bad eyesight could barely see him
Once Mike came to the shoulder of the robot and jumped down, Mike started running and speeding the moment he touched the ground creating cracks on the ground
"Would you look at this! Mike is unstoppable!" The crowd was on their toes once Mike overcame the obstacle which would stop most of the other students and Present Mic captured on that opportunity to hype up Mike sky high bringing even more joy to the crowd
But soon a big boom was heard and the crowd looked behind Mike only to see Todoroki destroying the robot with his ice, which made it crash down, soon other students employed different tactics to overcome the robot's but that didn't matter to Mike
Soon the fall zone came into Mike's sight, a zone where you have to traverse a canyon or valley with islands in it all connected by ropes
At this point, Mike could geppo over everything as he would have done in the beginning but Mike decided that he would only use his physical powers so Mike will do just that
Coming to the starting line Mike crouched down and sensed the islands, he tensed up all the muscles in his body and with a big leap Mike jumped towards the island destroying the ground behind him and snapping some of the ropes destroying the opportunity of some of the students making them curse at him once they came to the fall zones
Leap after leap Mike jumped across the canyon at breathtaking speed with each leap taking only seconds to execute and before anyone knew it Mike was already on the other side of the canyon
His performance once again aroused the crowd Making them go wild and sooner than anyone could have expected it Mike became the crowd's favorite student
But that didn't mean that the other students were bad it's just that they paled in comparison to Mike's overwhelming show of strength
The minefield soon came into sight and while Mike is standing there some students already started to cross the fall valley but all they could do was eat Mike's dust
Determining his plan Mike jumped as far as he could into the minefield crossing tens of meters in a single leap but once he started landing it was obvious that he accidentally came across a mine
The crowd was in disarray seeing Mike step on a mine while Present Mic commented on Mike's every action, Mike became the main attraction of this round of the festival
Feeling that he was about to land on a mine Mike smirked, this was exactly intention, with observation Haki evading the mines would be a piece of cake but why to evade them if you can use them
Putting both his legs on the mine it exploded sending Mike flying thru the air at a terrifying speed but it didn't affect Mike in the slightest
Passing thru the gate Mike landed on his feet and thus Mike is the number one runner who dominated the preliminaries while leaving everyone to eat his dust

Electez Sorry but there won't be any chapters for a while I got sick and my temperature is around 39.5 Celsius (312.65 Kelvin or 103.1 fahrenheit) so I have to visit a doctor but don't you worry about me I will come out healthy
