บท 189: Territorial

"Stop right there," Lu Jianjun commanded, his voice low but sharp as a blade. His eyes flicked to the shards of glass crushed under her feet, his irritation flaring. "Unless you want to turn this into an emergency room visit."

The crunch of glass underfoot punctuated his words, but Li Na remained unfazed. Her dangerous steps wasn't stopping—not when her thoughts were spiralling faster than she could control. Each step she took was deliberately light, her defiance radiating with every inch of the shrinking distance between them.

"I'm wearing slippers," she said monotonously but a faintest smile came to lift the corners of her lips which gave her expression touch of happiness. 

Her nonchalance only seemed to further ignite Lu Jianjun's temper. His eyes darkened, the flicker of controlled fury unmistakable. "And if those slippers fail?"
