บท 26: Best laid plan [4] Escape route!
Everything was all set according to their plan. When Ma chunli burst inside the Crown Prince chamber to informed them that His Majesty was throwing a feat in the court.
"All ministers including Prince Zhang demanded the Crown Prince's presence in court!"
Ma chunli reported.
Princess Ye'er suddenly come out from the Crown Prince's bed chamber.
"Alright— let's attend the court session"
She said in a manly tone as the poison had already effect into her throat.
Ma Chunli look at her in disbelief.
"Your Highness?"
Princess Yu burst in laughters.
"Good—if you can fool Chunli who's always been with him, then its possible to make those old geezers believed that you are my brother!"
"Crown Princess?"
She cough to cleared her throat.
"I am the Crown Prince— don't forget that!"
She reminded Ma chunli so he wont forget and accidentally give them away.
"Chunli let's go!"
Ma Chunli followed her in amusement. The Crown Princess really looked like the Crown Prince! he thought. Even the way she walked, it was just like him.
When they were already at the back of the court, they heard Prince Zhang's voice.
"Royal Father! We are just wondering why the Crown Prince is not arround, could be that the humor is true—"
Ye'er clenched her fist when she heard it.
That idiot must be the one behind all this mess! She thought angrily.
"What humor?!"
His Majesty frowned and asked Prince Zhang grimly.
"That he's—"
"That I was what?"
Princess Ye'er asked Prince Zhang directly
not allowing him to finished his sentenced as she emerged from the back.
Giving them their own dose of medicine is a perfect revenged!
Everyone gasped when they heard a voice. Their eyes widened in shock as they saw the Crown Prince alive and well, infront of them.
It seems like they all have seen a ghost!
"Royal Father— your son was late. I deserved to be punished!"
He said kneeling while cupping his hand with the other before his chest.
His Majesry sat stiff in his chair. He open his mouth in shocked and cough discreetly as soon as he recovered.
"Never mind! It's good that you're here. Er—"
He paused while looking at him with contempt.
"What happened to your voice?"
Crown Prince cough to clear his throat.
"In reply to you, Royal Father! I accidentally caught a cold last night—"
He deliberately cough and cough.
His Majesty's face was half amused half furious, and Duke Yan was clearly avoiding to take, even a slight glance towards him.
I'm doomed! Ye'er thought desperately.
"Alright!"
His Majesty said after a while.
"Since the Crown Prince is not feeling well, let's all end in here—"
Ye'er felt relieved after she heard that the court session will end soon.
"Royal Father—"
Princess Ye'er shut Prince Zhang with an imperiously look but his Majesty already stop him from going further.
Nice try! Ye'er thought and smirked.
Prince Zhang was obviously not prepared that someone could actually outwits him and turn everything in the Crown Prince's favor.
After his Majesty dismissed them, Princess Ye'er felt relaxed and stood up immediately, leaving all of them stunned.
She run directly to the Crown Prince chamber as she felt that the poison was already dispersed.
Princess Ye'er just give an instruction to Prince Yu before she leave, while along the way she met Princess Xiang and nodded to her.
The next thing she knew, all the people rushed into Xiang Gōngzhǔ's quarter as it suddenly caught on fire.
In far distance she saw that His Majesty took a detour towards Princess Xiang's chamber.
His Majesty dotted the Princess very much, even if he had an urgent matter with the Crown Prince. For sure he won't just stand without checking and ignored her safety.
"Thanks Xiang!"
Princess Ye'er muttered silently.
When everything was cleard Princess Ye'er climbed up in the wall where she used to take as a shortcut. It takes all her effort to full herself up as she was so tired and it seems like all her strength had been used up all night.
Finally, she already stood in the solid ground. Ye'er leaned on the wall as if her life depends on it and slowly sank herself. She stretched her legs in the ground to rest it.
In that side, she knew that only in the night their guardsmen will going to patrolled.
That wall is connected to the palace west wing. No one ever knew that secret, except her and Princess Xiang.
After a while Ye'er left, she was tip toing while occasionally hiding in the bushes when one of their hounds saw her.
"Oh—No!"
She exclaimed in disappointment.
"Why of all days they choose to let Chu-chu out?"
Ye'er paused when she realized something.
Someone had deliberately let Chu-chu out, and that someone is up to something. She thought angrily.
But I'm sorry to disappoint you! She thought clenching her hands.
Luckily Chu-chu remained quite as she crawled amongst the bushes. She just followed her with a gazed.
"If you dare make a noise I'm going to chop your head!"
Ye'er told Chu-chu imperiously like talking to a child. She waved her hand in her neck as if chopping it. Chu-chu just lowered her head and wagged her tail as if she understood her.
"Good girl!!"
She run fast. When she reached at the back of her room she climed up again through her window.
Princess Ye'er was really familiar in this kind of thing, as it was actually her forte. She silently laughed. It was countless time that she successfully sneaked outside and come back without getting caught.
Drawn by her thought, she holds a wrong handle that make her fell in the floor with a loud bang.
She heard a footsteps coming towards her and froze in horror.
Princess Ye'er felt like all the color in her face drained as she was not expecting someone to be in her room.
"Princess—"
A surprised voice suddenly exclaimed when she saw her in an awkward position.
Princess Ye's mind was fogged with fright and she could not be able to move.
"Come quickly— we don't have time!"
Si'niang pulled her up, and thats the only time Princess Ye'er realized.
"Si'niang!"
She suddenly cried into her and embraced her thightly.
"Silly girl. !"
Si'niang laughed and squeezed her hair gently.
"I already prepared your dress— quicked!"
Si'niang said while studying her. Except for her hair that neatly tied up, her dress was all wrench and her face is covered with dirt.
And her wound suddenly bleeds.
"What happened?"
Si'niang asked her. She shook her head as she was about to cry.
Xin'er was still in Prince Yu!
She could not tell Si'niang that Xin'er was heavily injured because she dragged her along with her.
It breaks her heart!
"C'mon its done!"
She was preoccupied with her emotion that she did not noticed Si'niang expression.
Si'niang was thinking about Xin'er while wrapping Ye'ers wound.
She just realized that Si'niang already wrapped up her wound and remained quite. She did not dare to speak anything. Afraid she might betrayed herself.
She then changed her gown and Si'niang help her groom herself.
Everything was set and ready. Though she was so sleepy she managed herself to appeared fresh as she was waiting for her father.
She saw in the corner of her eyes before leaving in the palace court that her father also leave in haste.
She sat on her table and open her book when the door suddenly burst open. The first thing Princess Ye'er saw was the least person she was expected to come.
"I wasn't wrong after all!"
She silently clenched her hands.
Concubine Xian stood there stiff with her mouth open as if she had seen a ghost.
"Why you're here?"
Was the first words that comes into her mouth.
"If Im not here, where should I be?"
Princess Ye'er almost muttered but stop herself. Before they're drawn in a deep conversation thats the time her dad comes rushing, as well.
Meanwhile, in the palace His Majesty took a detour towards Prince Xiang's chamber. Her quarter suddenly caught a fire and she was trapped inside for quite sometimes.
When they managed to pulled her out she was already unconscious.
His Majesty was so angry that he forgot to deal with the Crown Prince.
"What was going on?"
His Majesty's voice roared and all the servants and Eunuchs were all their heads in the ground, kneeling before his Majesty.
"In reply to you, Your Majesty! all Princess Xiang's attendant does not have any idea—"
His Majesty, blew a furious sigh.
"If something happened to the princess— all of you will be burried along with her!"
His Majesty's heart seems like being tore into pieces, seeing his favorite daughter in a lifeless state.
Seeing His Majesty's furious look, makes that someone hiding behind the pillar grin like a dog.
He clenched his fist tightly. I'm going to disposed everyone who ever crossed my path and ruined my plans! he thought angrily.
This is the perfect time, that he found to finally disposed Princess Xiang as she's the only one who could be link to his real identity.
I could not afford to lost! he said.
No one knew that the little mischief that Princess Xiang initially made to divert his Majesty's attention was not actually made by her. Someone else was actually behind it.
