Buying individual stocks, whilst doable, isn't really recommended. There are already tons of ETFs (each containing multiple stocks) that you can buy which have way more stability due to diversity.
Think of it like downloading mods for a game. When getting started, it's way easier to just download a popular modpack and play it as is. Multiple people have already spent countless hours picking out mods and setting up all the config files to ensure a fun and seamless playthrough.
Once you've experienced a couple modpacks and want a more personalized experience, you can start adding mods to modpacks and messing with the config files. Take it a step further and you can start picking and choosing mods to build your own modpack.
This is essentially the difference between ETFs and stocks. Basically, unless you really know exactly what you're doing, just go with the popular modpacks or etfs. It'll save you a lot of time, effort, as well as be a more enjoyable experience overall.
