บท 205: Day One Of Training

"Wow. All that happened just now?" Liam asked, still very unsure of how he took Elizabeth's outrageous story.

Sighing, Elizabeth said, "Yeah, we'll go back to the Shadow Realm in a week's time. Your doubts will be cleared then, if you still have trouble believing me."

Liam, hurriedly said, "Wh- I don't doubt you!"

Disregarding the attempt to placate her, Elizabeth continued, "You guys are free to stay here if you want, as I'll be asking Jane to set up the formations again in a much less dangerous location; on Earth."

"Right now, breaking out of the Mortal Realm and into the Spirit Realm will be my number one priority along with teaching Earth's first generation of Mages. What'll you guys do for the week?" Elizabeth said, finally getting to the task at hand. After the short debriefing session she had to get everyone in her party filled in on what happened those couple hours she was alone in the Shadow Realm.

"Cultivation works for me," said Sun. He along with everyone except Yrre, were feeling rather put down. Knowing they were still heavily outclassed by Elizabeth, they felt like they were holding her back; a sentiment that invoked a crippling sense of guilt, considering what Elizabeth had done for them.

Sun, Tristan, and Jane in particular almost unanimously thought along the lines of, 'If only I were stronger… If my skills or even the resources I'm capable of supplying her were better. Maybe… just maybe, things wouldn't have had to end with her running for dear life.'

"Mhmm, Let's get things set up then," Elizabeth said, pulling up her phone to inform her father that she was going to head towards her "teaching grounds."

The next day, at exactly ten o'clock in the morning, at the entrance of what looked to be a beach resort, Elizabeth stood ready to receive the people that would be studying Magic under her.

"Mhmm… You are all the people I accepted last week," Elizabeth started. Eyeing the people that had been neatly arranged into lines, she continued, "All of you are no doubt non-practitioners at the moment, but with the current simmering global crisis, I need all of you to be competent Mages as soon as possible."

"Now, we'll begin the day's physical training. I hope you lot studied up on the manuals that were given to you upon being accepted in this 'program' and have started meditating, else you'll truly lead a rough life from now on… Anyway, sprint for two hours. Go!" Elizabeth commanded. As expected, such a short and poor speech had more than one Mage apprentice confused.

"Um… Miss Ultimatia, I thought we were training to be Mages…" Jasper nervously asked from the back of the group; before him were four others in his line.

"You are training to be Mages," Elizabeth stated.

A different person asked, "If that's, uh… the case, why are we doing such intensive physical exercise? It was clearly stated in our 'homework' that Mages, unlike Martial Practitioners, would prioritize their spiritual parameters, as it was dubbed, at least in my manual."

"Mhmm… That's true," Elizabeth squinted her eyes in annoyance; clearly bothered by the time they were losing on questions. "As Mages, you'll no doubt see most of your training revolve around meditating and increasing your reserves of Inner Strength and Magic after breaking through to the Mage Pawn Stage."

"However, to actually make those breakthroughs, you'll need to first build up proper cultivating vessels. The more physically fit your body becomes the easier you'll find progressing in cultivation… You need to develop your body so that it can be more accepting of Inner Strength and Magic, else you'll never attain the perfect foundation and in my 'school' of teaching, only perfection is acceptable." If glares could cut, Elizabeth would have sliced up her entire class about a half a dozen times by the time she finished her words.

"Now, get to running!" She barked, "Use your Inner Strength if you have to, but I want to see everyone running at full speed for two hours!"

With no more questions, the entire group began running as if their lives depended on it. Some ran faster than others, understandably, because of the vast age gap between the class. No one would expect a six-year-old child, like Jasper, to be able to contend with some of the others that were fully grown adults.

However, everyone, regardless of their age, managed to complete the task without much of a problem as they were both talented and prepared for the task. Elizabeth already knew this to be within their limits as she had checked their status before deciding on their first exercise of the day. While they ran around at full speed, she hovered in the air literally teleporting around as she trained her [False Teleportation] Skill.

[Skills

Current Effect: Instantly displaces the user with unoccupied space within the range of their Absolute Domain. Due to spatial turbulence, the user must wait for a period of five seconds before they may attempt subsequent teleportations.]

With Good Affinity for Space and Spacetime, while still a bit ridiculous, it was understandable for Elizabeth to make so much progress with the skill in the short two hours she began practicing. Upon gathering everyone back to the entrance of their 'school,' Elizabeth handed out snacks she had created personally to recover their spent Inner Strength. After the short break, at around a quarter past noon, it was time to resume physical exercise; this time, sparring.

Elizabeth went over the basics of Muay Thai with those that didn't come from a background of Martial Practitioners; those that did, sparred with whatever Martial Art they were trained. While it may have seemed a bit absurd, to start all these non-practitioner off on sparring right off the get-go — especially when they hardly knew each other or the fighting styles of their sparring partners, most of the time — Elizabeth only cared about efficiency. Besides, she was there to keep an eye on everyone, and as a Grandmaster Acupointress, there shouldn't be cause for concern.

"Um… I don't have a partner," Jasper said; coming over to Elizabeth's side with palpable apprehension.

"Mhmm, I'll be your sparring partner. Come at me," Elizabeth stated. So far she had yet to show any semblance of the murderous demon that confronted the little boy just a week prior. In fact, ever since they met again, even with his parents by his side, Elizabeth had yet to leak even a trace of killing intent.

Instead, when they met once more, she only brandished her Talent Stealing Blood Seal without a trace of emotion in her eyes. When Jasper accepted it, she nodded to his parents and took him into her temporary custody; never speaking a word of the incident of just a week prior.

Now sparing against Elizabeth, Jasper's worries that she might bully or torture him like some sort of sadist were finally relinquished as she treated his training without bias. At most, she would poke or cause him to fall, but never during their time fighting each other did she take advantage of the obvious gap in strength between them to cause him pain or even humiliate him.

She took the same approach to the sparring session with six-year-old Jasper as she had with the boy in Tyre Academy's class for Warriors; pointing out the mistakes in his form and strategy as she remained ever-vigilant of the others. The sparring session lasted three hours before the next snack break which then finally followed by five hours of mandatory meditation.

Elizabeth spent those five hours practicing more of her skills; only coming back to address her class of apprentice Mages at around 8:30 PM. "Congratulations, you've completed day one of mandatory training," she said in the lounge of the beach resort, continuing, "This will be your routine for the next six days. This week you'll no doubt grow much stronger as time passes, and some of you might grow faster or stronger than your peers."

"However, always remember to give 100% of your effort no matter your place. I don't care if you want to give up for placing low within the class or not wanting to give it your all to let your peers catch up…" Her eyes glowed eerily as she coldly stated, "If I see anyone not give it their all, they're out."

"Now, then," she returned back to normal as she said, "You have until ten o'clock the next morning to do whatever you want. Whether that's playing around with games or social media, watching TV, movies, or browsing the internet, or continuing to train, do whatever you want. There are Resting Pills left in your rooms to use at your discretion. You are dismissed."

Once Elizabeth was finally out of sight, everyone in the room finally felt able to breathe. She was just too intimidating; regardless of her appearance. One boy, who looked about the same age as Elizabeth commented, "Jesus Christ… Is she really a year younger than me? She was nothing like the neutral girl that interviewed me a week ago…"

"I know right?! She's like a drill instructor, but somehow scarier!" The girl standing next to him added.

"Well, I'm going to continue cultivating for sure… Doing otherwise would probably anger her, even if she did say we could do whatever we wanted until ten, next morning." Stated the same boy.

"Same."

"Yep."

"You going to cultivate here, or back in your room?"

Absolutely no one even thought about playing around this first night…
