"You have made an excellent decision. Earth is now the seventh planet to join the Prometheus Empire." Raditz said to the king.
After watching the two Saiyans make their way off world, Raditz had to meet with the King of the Earth. Bulma brought the former king a new display screen to allow him to watch the battle on both the limited ZTV feed and the Capsule Corporation satellites. Witnessing the battle left the king with a deep fear of what could befall his world.
Working with the Kakarot Corps. in the past allowed the king to know just how strong people could get. They handled enemies that the military could not. With all the advances in military technology, the army was powerless in the face of enemies Kakarot and his group could defeat with their bare hands. Now there were threats from beyond the stars that were even stronger. Signing up with Raditz was the only logical choice he could make now.
Dr. Briefs and his daughter supplied the king with information about possible galactic threats, and how being a part of the empire will bring some assurances. They also stressed the advantages to having access to the alien technologies Raditz would supply the planet. Of course, Earth would become a member of a larger galactic society.
A press conference was held later that day explaining to the world that their planet had joined a galactic empire of which the king had become a System Governor. Many people worried about what this change would mean for their lives. Capsule Corp. would be accepting applicants for a space training program over the next few years.
When Earth had access to spaceports and ships, they would be allowed to host alien visitors and be free to tour the other imperial planets. With the help of Capsule Corp., it should not take long for the planet to get up to speed technology wise, but the people might take longer to adapt. Most of the blow from the press conference was mitigated by Raditz being the emperor.
They remembered him from the classic fight against the Mysterious rookie at the 22nd World Martial Arts Tournament. Raditz had become a legend in the people's hearts. The recording was still viewed the world over to this day. That fight was one of the reasons so many dojos and training schools opened. The only fight that almost topped it was the Kakarot versus Ma Junior in the following tournament.
After the press conference, Raditz flew Bulma to Kami's Lookout along with Reiss. His wife should have learned the flying technique years ago, but Raditz guessed she just liked being carried. It was a very insignificant cost for all the years of help she gave him. If it wasn't for her expertise it would have been a difficult time building an empire. Bureaucracy was not one of Raditz's strong points. The long haired Saiyan was good at coming up with overall goals, but fine details were more in Bulma's wheelhouse.
"I can see Uncle Kakarot and his friends!" Reiss shouted.
Raditz asked his brother and his friends to meet him at Kami's Lookout. He wanted to speak with them after the battle, but there was no time because of the meeting with the king and subsequent news conference. Reiss was excited to see his cousin again. He hoped the two of them could train together someday.
Kami was gathered with everyone on the lookout when Raditz and his family landed. The group was in the middle of a conversation when Raditz walked over.
"It has been some time, Raditz." the old Namekian greeted, "Or I suppose you should be called Emperor Raditz, now?"
"No need Kami." Raditz responded. He saw Piccolo standing far from the group. The much younger Namekian was still uncomfortable in the presence of his father's other half.
When the group finished catching up with each other, Raditz jumped straight to the business of explaining why he wanted to meet.
"Kami, where is your ship located?" Raditz asked. "I mean I could have found it myself, but as a courtesy I decided to ask you."
"I thank you for asking first, but I don't know where it would be." Kami looked downcast. "When the first invasion happened, I was shocked to learn I was an alien. But I never looked for the ship."
"May I ask why you want it?" Kami asked.
"I believe Frieza is on his way to your birth planet to obtain their Dragon Balls. He no doubt heard about them over the Scouters. If he doesn't get what he wants, Planet Namek will be no more." Raditz looked completely serious, "I did some searching, but the North Galaxy Area, needless to say, is a vast place. Without the coordinates from your ship, it will be difficult to find."
"Mr. Popo knows where the ship is, Kami." Popo answered from besides the old Namekian, "With your permission, Mr. Popo can take them to it."
"Frieza is the guy who blew up our planet, right?" Kakarot asked his brother.
"Yes, he did just that." Raditz answered. "But now that I know where he is going to be and what he wants, I can challenge him and maybe save the planet. Unless Frieza chooses to instantly kill me, I should manage to overcome him."
What he didn't say was the fact he wanted to use the Namekian Dragon to make a few wishes of his own.
"I want to fight too." Kakarot said clenching his fists.
"Good you volunteered, brother. Frieza will be bringing his army. He likes to use overwhelming force when taking planets, which is why I was going to ask if any of you wanted to join me in this adventure." Raditz concluded.
Afterwards, Mr. Popo used his flying carpet to teleport Bulma and Reiss to the derelict Namekian spaceship. The location was in the Yunzabit Heights, which was at 'the world's end,'" a desolate windy place full of grass topped mesas and plateaus. The white ship resembled something made of porcelain with four spiked protrusions as landing legs. There were four spikes at the front of the ship near the bulbous windows and one spike protruding from the back.
The password to enter the ship was the word Piccolo. When the password was given, a circular platform lowered down from the underside of the ship allowing entry. The trio stood on the platform before Bulma gave the password "Piccolo" to raise the platform again.
While Bulma connected her datapad to download the ship's computer, Reiss checked out the rest of the ship. She knew that if they wanted to repair the ship to functionality, it would take some time. The good news was they didn't need the ship at all. She transmitted the computer data to the imperial flagship in orbit around the planet.
In the end, Krillin, Tien, Piccolo, and Gohan chose to accompany Raditz to Planet Namek. They were going to leave as soon as everyone's affairs were in order. This gave Raditz time to meet his sister-in-law Chichi.
"It is wonderful to meet to you. I've heard so much about you!" Chichi greeted. Raditz, Bulma, and Reiss had arrived at Mt. Pozu. Kakarot's home was much larger than Raditz remembered.
After the greetings were out of the way, Raditz asked, "What was that structure we flew over near the base of the mountain?"
"That is the Dojo Master Roshi and Son Gohan started after the 23rd world tournament." Chichi answered.
"So the old man who raised Kakarot is still alive?" Raditz was surprised.
"Yes, we visit frequently. My dad, the Ox King, enjoys spending time there as well." Chichi explained.
After a Saiyan sized dinner Bulma gave Chichi a prototype Capsule Corp. high speed communications computer pad. The computer pads were a joint creation between the Gren'dir scientists and Big Gete. They would be releasing them publicly in a few weeks, but the other planets under Raditz already used the devices. Kakarot's wife was thrilled by the expensive looking gift.
"By the way, Raditz, did Kakarot ask you about that job?" Chichi questioned with a smile.
Raditz looked over at Kakarot confused.
What job was she talking about?
Kakarot had a fearful look. He felt his back start to become soaked in a cold sweat.
"What are you talking about?" Raditz asked, "What job?"
"You didn't ask!" she yelled at Kakarot. "Why didn't you even ask!?"
"I was going to, but we were invaded. Then I died. Then we had to fight the Saiyans." Kakarot quickly explained. He then looked to his brother, "Do you have a fun job available that pays a lot!?" his eyes darted back to Chichi quickly gauging her mood.
"Sure I can give you a job." Raditz smiled, "How does security agent sound?"
"Will I get to fight strong opponents?" Kakarot asked.
"Some will be... others not so much." Raditz answered honestly.
"That's what I do!" Reiss shouted, "Maybe we can work together uncle Kakarot."
"Your son already has a job!?" Chichi was amazed by this news and looked over at her own son.
"Of course, my Reiss is an imperial prince after all!" Bulma laughed with the back of her hand covering her mouth. It was a laugh brimming with pride.
The next morning, the group left Mt. Pozu and headed to Capsule Corp. grounds in West City. There they would meet the shuttle, which would then take them to dock with the orbiting mother ship. The group of new space travelers were amazing by the shuttle until they witnessed the massive saucer suspended above their planet.
"That is the Menagerie, the flagship of the Prometheus Empire, my ship." Raditz said as the ship came into view. The passengers, except for Piccolo, were clearly excited about seeing the ship up close.
"Uncle Raditz, why is it called that?" Gohan asked.
"Because the crew is made up of people from each of the worlds in my empire. Earth being the exception for now." Raditz explained to his nephew. Raditz pressed a button on the wall panel of the shuttle.
"Pilot, do a flyby of the Menagerie before taking us in to dock." Raditz commanded.
"Yes, your Majesty!" came the reply.
The ship was modeled after his original craft that was destroyed. The main difference was its size and the fact that it was rebuilt using Big Gete technology. This made the new ship several times more advanced than most ships in the North Galactic Area. The size difference allowed for a larger crew complement, even though, the ship didn't need a crew because of the Big Gete systems installed in the computers. However, those A.I. functions were locked until emergency situations or a command code from Raditz was given.
When the ship docked, warriors in black and red armor stood at each side of the corridor. They saluted with a fist pressed against their chest when their Emperor walked past.
The bridge of the Menagerie had many people busy on consoles and terminals. All of the commotion ended when the doors of the bridge slid open revealing Raditz. Everyone stopped what they were working on and stood at attention when they learned the Emperor was on deck.
"As you were." Raditz commanded. The crew relaxed again from the command and continued to work. Bulma went to the navigation section of the bridge where a Gren'dir woman wearing a Scouter visor was stationed.
"Has the data from the Namekian ship been fully integrated?" Bulma asked the woman.
"Yes, my Empress! We can depart for Namek at any point." she answered enthusiastically.
After hearing the confirmation Bulma nodded to Raditz, who had taken his seat on the bridge. Raditz rose from his seat with his hands behind his back and walked towards the middle of the bridge. His crew had a look of confidence and purpose.
"Helm, set a course for Planet Namek!" Raditz ordered. "Full speed."
"Setting course for Namek, full speed, aye!" the visored woman answered, elegantly typing at her console. In no time at all, the ship had raced out of the solar system towards its new target destination.
Elsewhere in space, Vegeta and Nappa's ships headed towards the nearest Frieza Force outpost to recover from their battle on Earth. The outpost was located on Planet Frieza No. 79. It was the nearest outpost with proper medical facilities and Attack Ball landing pads. Once they were healed up they would have to make a trip to Namek to gain immortality. Then they could take vengeance on Raditz, and even Frieza.
Vegeta was curious to learn what his power level would become after getting healed, especially after he had already gotten a boost from that fruit Turles's men brought.
"Just wait Raditz, soon you will bow down before the Prince of all Saiyans!" Vegeta thought to himself before sleep overcame him.
