บท 27: The Contract
(Jacob's POV)
"Good Afternoon, Maria, LK" I said as I reached out my hand towards them. Maria shook my hand first and I turned to "LK" and she gave me a firm yet controlled hand shake. It was like she was a whole different person.
"Please have a seat." I said to them while pointing to the chairs. They both sat down and I handed "LK" the contract I came up with and sat down across from her. She took the contract and she started to go through it. I tried to explain the contract to her, but she just raised her hand which indicated for me to stop talking.
Looking at her go through every little thing in the contract was really eye catching. She looked so professional. I couldn't help, but curl up the side of my lip. Realizing it I quickly went back to my cold self.
After about thirty minutes of her looking through the contract, she put it down. She stared at me for a couple of seconds, then she spoke. "I accept your contract on one condition."
I thought about it for a couple of seconds. Interesting, I thought I was supposed to be running this meeting. Fine I'll bite. "State your condition." I said in a demanding voice. Her lip curved up a little and said in a very cold and serious voice "Since Maria will no longer be my manager, I get to choose my new manager and not one from your company. I know someone I would like to have as my manager."
Wow. She is good. She gets to choose her manager. And not just anyone. She wants an outsider. Interesting. "Alright, but I'll have to interview them first. If I like them, I'll except them as your manager." I said to her.
She thought about it for a couple of seconds and then she said "Deal". I took the contract from her and wrote it down. I then gave it back to her and she took out a pen she had and signed the contract.
She stood up and said good bye to Maria and Maria walked out of the office. I got up from my seat and she took off her mask.
After her taking off her mask, her aura changed back to normal. I was truly impressed. She can be cold and very serious. That's pretty hot.
But wait when did she become like that. When I first met her, she was not like that. She was gentle and sweet like a flower. Seeing her like that, it was like she just buried that person six feet under and set it on fire. Did I do that to her?
I couldn't help but stare at her with hints of sadness. I really did change her and I don't if it's a good thing or bad.
"I'll go make the call." she said to me and she put her mask back on. Her aura then changed again. Unbelievable. She then walked out.
I was still shocked. She definitely has changed. Should I be scared or no? I honestly have no clue anymore. And with that thought I walked out of the conference room.

(Jacob's Office)
I'm sitting in my office looking at other papers, but cannot focus for the life of me. Ugh. The struggle is real.
All of a sudden, there was a knock at the door that knocked me out of thoughts. "Uh.. come in." I said and "LK" came in with a woman. The woman looked to be in her mid to early twenties. She had a semi light/dark skin and had dark hair that was at her neck in length. She was indeed a beautiful woman.
"LK" took off her mask and was now back to Luna again. "Jacob, this is my best friend Alexis Holt. Alexis this is my mate Jacob King. Jacob, I would like her to be my new manager." she said.
Hearing her call me her mate, made Midnight very happy. I lips curled up a little bit, but I quickly went back to my cold self and stood up. I held my hand out and Alexis quickly took it. "Please have a seat and we can started with the interview." I said to her and she did as she was told.
It took me about a half an hour to interview her and she was indeed good. She answered all of my questions with honesty and with confidence. She is exactly what Luna, I mean "LK" needs in a manager.
I stood up and looked at Luna and said "I have made my decision. She can be your new manager." Luna and Alexis looked really happy when I told them. I pressed on a button on my desk that tells Nathan to come here.
It took a couple of seconds, but Nathan knocked on the door and came in. As soon as his eyes landed on Alexis, he was in shock. "Lexi, what are you doing here?" he asked. Luna and I looked at each other in shock. They know each other.
Alexis looked at Nathan and smiled. "Babe, I just got a job at being the manager of LK" she replied. Before I could say anything, Luna went ahead and said "Babe!?" Alexis and Nathan looked at both us and explained everything about them being Mates.
I was obviously happy for them and when I looked at Luna, she was already hugging them both. It was a happy moment. Unfortunately I had to break up the happy moment and say what I had to say to Nathan. "Nathan, help Alexis get set up around here. Alexis...Luna.. You have your first rehearsal next week so go on and leave me to do my work."
Nathan and Alexis left, while Luna just stared. Why was she just staring. So creepy. Now I know what she means when I do it to her. I was about to say something, but before I could, Luna came around my desk and gave me a small yet passionate kiss.
"What was that for?" I asked when she pulled away. Then she said the best thing. "It's because you deserve it for trusting me about Alexis". After that she walked out of my office. I smiled to myself and finally went back to work without anymore distractions.
