6.97% Odd, the Conquering Gob / Chapter 3: No, It Isn't an Exaggeration

บท 3: No, It Isn't an Exaggeration

Most of the Gobs in captivity evolved into Halfings. Their features were softer and they no longer acted aggressively. The passive, inquisitive creatures showed their emotions without deception, were introspective, and made quick friends to humans around the world.

At the time, we had yet to figure out that while Halflings were more prone to evolutionary means that increased their intelligence while basking in intense emotions, they mostly evolve into literal demons of death and destruction. A Halfling was just as the name suggests, is halfway to becoming like the rest of the Enlightened. That half, however, is a far enough distance that we no longer let them into human cities like we used to.

The Gobs in the wild were much simpler and more welcome. The ones that lived in nature turned green, grew an extra foot or two, and were given the moniker of "Goblins," due to their fantasy-like appearance.

The other Gobs we cataloged during the first several weeks of the new era had similar features, but different skin tones if they lived near sources of water, in caves, or in extreme conditions like deserts and the arctic. In rare cases, we found Gobs with scales, animal like appearances, fish tails, and wings as well.

Despite their odd appearances, they all died in the same ways. Humanity hunted them as they hunted us. We received minimal of casualties overall and grew stronger as a race. We believed that our world was in our control. With the Connection newly made and modern weaponry, none of the colored Goblins and other second tier creatures were ever a threat.

Melisandra's jaw dropped and she recollected her emotions.

While it was common knowledge that Abyssal Elves were crazy and could flip out over everything and everyone. It was a lesser known fact that the opposite is true as well.

In the most frightening, deadly, or unknown circumstances Abyssal Elves can stay calm or even find enjoyment in the simplest things that most other races call would them disgusting for even having those thoughts.

And this elf finally realized that this little spawn was odd. Way odd. And possibly her ticket out of this hellhole. But of course it was only natural that her child would be better than the other pencil-dick wastes of beating hearts.

This might be her ticket out. Think, girl. Step one, get out of here. Step two, decide if the beautiful child should live or not.

'Actually, if I continue to stop rape attempts, they'll force me to escape anyway,' she figured. But then again, so what if she was raped and forced to push out another one? Melisandra's cute little prodigy would evolve in 5 days and would be able to use magic that could decimate everyone in this cave. The leader was the only one that Melisandra figured would be a threat if he didn't evolve well enough.

The key to her chains were a different matter. None of the Goblins in the cave had the key on them, that responsibility was kept to the direct followers of the Overboss's lieutenants. It would be tricky, but eventually, the newborn Proto-Gob should be able to get her out without the need to blow her hands up. Healing limbs was a pain in the as. If she has any more kids while she has to wait for the new Gob to take care of this mess, the negative effect child rearing causes would force her to wait another month.

Aborting it with her magic fixes the problem, but it still keeps her magic screwed up for days until she can recover from the damage caused.

And that tree hugging fucker will continue to come here with his [Astral Projection]..." Melisandra thought to herself.

Whatever, she'll just have another kid and kill it or something to make up for the fact that she didn't kill this one that keeps... Staring. At her!

Yes, she wouldn't care what happened to her in the meantime. And yes, Abyssal Elves are all this fucking crazy.

"Why are you here?" the pale abomination that sprang from her loins asked. "You look really strong, but chose to be kidnapped?"

So the little genius could figure out that too? Wait, chose? And what other skills did the guy get in just a half hour of breathing air? Gobs always learn new things fast, but not THIS fast.

If her backstabbing, idiot ex didn't cause this mess in the first place, she wouldn't be her and forced to have her first child in a fucking cave! At least she was dragged to this outpost and wasn't kept in the main stronghold of this weak ass Goblin tribe in the middle of no where.

If that happened, she would have been forced to ask that holier-that-thou asshole to save her.

"A man whose balls will be shoved into his mouth caused me to be in chains here," she gritted her teeth hard enough that black lightning sparked out of her mouth.

The odd Gob kept looking at her with his inquisitive eyes, beautiful eyes before he asked her another question, "You don't want to be here?"

"No," she whispered demurely. Melisandra was a dark elf to the core. Deception was literally in her nature and it was even easier to do with a child that was born before yesterday. "I want to leave."

The Proto-Gob hummed with his hand resting against his chin, "The other Gobs would never let you go, but that doesn't look fun, so I don't blame you," he pointed over at the two male breeding vessels.

One of the males was still being ridden by a female Gob like while the Proto-Gob saw as he first inspected the breeding vessels. His arms and legs were spread out like a dying starfish, his eyes were pointed towards the ceiling as his jaw was slack.

The other had just started receiving a brutal pegging from a particularly vicious looking male Gob.

"That looks boring. And that..." he hid his eyes from the action as he subconsciously blocked his butthole. "That looks painful and... gross."

Inside, the Abyssal Elf had to fight everything she had not to roll her eyes at the scene.

"Yes, it's much more fun when someone wants it. And what those two males are doing is just gross."

"Hmm, what about two girls then?" he asked as he started to experiment with his own tool.

"Stop that!" the elf hissed. "That's for private only! Be a good boy not like these savages. And you can think about that later, you're too little," Melisandra explained in a mothering tone. The elf had lived almost a century now, but the Gob was her first child so she found a small sense of responsibility.

"And your supposed to cover that up, had some modesty!"

"Modesty," the Gob tested the idea and looked down at her torn clothing before examining the rags around the room and the stolen leather pants the leader of this tribe wore. "Okay, mother, I'll be modest and gain a harem without being savage like the other Gobs do."

And that sense of responsibility was quashed. This abomination just called her mother! And what, harem?

Before she could reprimand the beast, a green Goblin pushed it to the side and punched it in the head. She watched as the monster's head bounced on the hard floor.

"Leave. Sow ready for Gob now. I make strongest Gob ever."

It was a fresh Green Goblin. The default evolutionary path of a Gob that hunts in a forest and rolls through mud and dirt like a savage, eating everything it could find. Living meat, fresh, rotten, bugs, leaves, feces, it ate anything and had about as much brains as an animal.

To the rest of the world, Goblins like this were free offerings to the Connection. A teenage child can defeat them easily.

Obviously, the Goblin had freshly evolved from his Proto form, because even the leader had no desire to breed her after she released her magic before the large Goblin leader could release himself inside her. After a few attempts, it got the message and the tribe leader stuck to its harem and other captives.

However, she knew this weakling Goblin was strong enough to lay waste to her progeny that was less than an hour old, so she didn't even try to get it's help.

Proto-Gobs were smaller and weaker than even the most useless of Goblins.

She tried to relax herself and force herself not to use her magic when she was picked up and shifted into the position.

Until a scream rang through the cave.

The Proto-Gob charged at his mother's side, latched onto the Goblin's back and his hands started to glow with power. Seconds past as the cave went silent as the onlookers watched the color drain from the Goblin as he died.

"Mine!" the bastard child roared. He pushed more mana into his hands, sparking up, lighting the cave in an eerie brilliance as if he expected a challenge to his claim.

Melisandra's emotions for her bastard child flipped full reverse again. She had been so bipolar because of that thing that she half expected she would reach a break through in her magical affinity levels before she could use him to break out.

A roaring laughter came from across the cave as the horned leader of the Gob tribe pushed a harem member off his member before he thundered across the room to the small Gob.

"Good!" he yelled as he patted the young Gob on the back.

The smaller creature fell to the floor panting from his use of mana and the oversized palm that pushed him down, but he quickly got up. He knew not to appear weak.

"Mage Gob made his claim and I agree. More Gobs with more lighting is good," the leader declared. "Roark take new Gob to hunt. No one touch new Gob's breed vessel. What your name, new Gob?"

"Just call me Odd," he stated calmly, rolling his shoulders before he stood up straight and looked taller than his foot tall figure would usually impose.

His posture made for intimidation would have been a little more powerful to a captive, weakling slave, if her evolved, elvish ears hadn't picked up his whispered voice under his breath that said, "Cause I guess I don't get two days to think of a better name."

'Yes,' Melisandra thought to herself with a sweet smile that shouldn't exist on a rape victim's face a half hour after she gave birth, 'You are definitely my ticket out of here, my beautiful son.'
