Hours before Harker went to meet with Lynd and with Lara, an important call was being made. Ever since the EMP attack, Pangea had activated several military protocols that would only be approved by the WGP if Pangea encountered a specific level of threat. With this, various satellite links were now made that allowed it to spy on other nations.
But the activation of these satellites was not to have the capacity to do world-wide scanning. This was done to receive a certain call from China.
"Ni Hao Ma?" Seeker asked.
"It's racist when you say it." Harker shook his head.
"There are a lot of changes regarding my plan. This Overcomer, Nogard… He's far more different than who we thought he would be. It would seem that the Unlocking itself is Aragarian technology. Rather, a technology from one of those who calls themselves a Primordial. What we have is from the Lost Primordial."
"An Aragarian made the Unlocking? Why would he give it to us?"
Lourca Oviili is the Pioneer/ Arbiter mentioned in the Auxillary chapter, 136. You will see that she was mentioned there and there was a conspiracy theory regarding her betrayal.
This chapter is actually a continuation of the topics discussed last time. Today's post-modern society has embraced the "relativity of truth" so much, that people can easily distort it. Harker's explanation is the process of how people do it. When there's something newsworthy people of different political, religious or even personal views will take that news and distort it and can even make it look bad. And it isn't even hard!
Take for example, Philippine senator and world-famous boxer, Manny Pacquiao. He has allied with the Jack Ma foundation and donated hundreds of thousands of testing kits which are greatly needed in our country. He has donated thousands and thousands of medical supllies and mask for the frontline doctors and even donated several buses to help the country keep transportation alive yet follow social distancing protocols. Now I'm talking to those who are not natives of the PH.
You would think that this would be generally good PR right? Wrong. With a simple twist of the truth, those who hate him focused on 1. Pacquaio being Rich. and 2. How being charitable doesn't make you a great politician. (Ironic since there has yet to be a senator in the PH who could match Pacquaio's donation in this crisis)
Now if we'll be technical about it, these arguments are indeed true. But that's just it. At some point, you could even say these arguments are subjective rather than objective.
So in a way, Pacqiaous good and great deeds were easily distorted and somehow shown to be evil. (At least implied to be.) And thousands upon thousands believe this and insult Pacquaio.
See how easily the truth is distorted? Of course the reason why Seeker felt an instinctive urge to learn more about this isn't just out of curiosity. I'm not adding philosophy for color. There is a reason why this chapter talks how easily truth can mislead you. I've already hinted it out quite a few times. You guys can deduce it. If Lynd is this... then...
Next Chapter on Friday!
