บท 37: Mystery #1
She looked at herself and observed herself wearing a light blue satin kimono robe. She groaned and tried to hit her head on the wall. She was confused why she was dressing up for Jun, he didn't even like her.
She decided to drink a glass of water. She shrugged the awful feeling and went downstairs. When she was just about to head directly to the kitchen when she noticed Jun outside the house, just standing. She rubbed her arm and forced herself to go out.
She slowly approached him, gulping nervously. "Uhm...hey,"
He turned around and embraced himself. He was going to do it.
She figured out that he was nervous to speak first and so, she did her best to speak up first. "you said uh...you're going to tell me something today," she stuttered while fidgeting her fingers.
He gulped and nodded hesitantly. He was afraid to scare her. "Liana, promise me that you will strengthen yourself a-and...know t-that I'm w-with y-you, no matter the situation," she tilted her head as a confused person would do before nodding at his words.
He sighed before saying, "It's a little cold here, why don't we get inside the tent?" he prayed that his plan would run smoothly.
She sat down on the sofa while watching him imitate her too. She noticed that he was still not speaking up and she was starting to get annoyed with it. She didn't want him to see her as a weak person. She was annoyed that because of this information he got, he looked at her as a weakling.
"are you going to tell me or not?"
"I went to see Louise. She's a detective. I figured out that I needed to catch the guy who threatened you. I don't like to just sit here and do nothing. I'm supposed to be your husband and knowing that someone's trying to kill you makes me useless, worthless," her heart beat so loudly that she was afraid he could hear its pace.
He gulped before he continued," I honestly wanted to keep this to myself because I don't want to scare you, but I can't solve this one if I don't tell you. The guy that threatened you had a problem with your family. I can't just talk to your family about this, they're going to freak out, "
She stood up and asked, raising her voice," wait—my family? Freak out? Does that mean that they know something that I don't? "
He grabbed her hand and pulled her slowly." Liana, that's not what I meant. Look, I don't really know, but I just need you to trust me" his eyes was soft, looking deeply at hers but something in her eyes changed.
With a cracked voice, she uttered, " How can I trust you if you don't trust me too?"
"what do you mean by that?"
"C'mon Jun, you're thinking that I'm weak and I couldn't handle this news that you got, but we're supposed to be partners. Husband and wife, right? We're going in that road, whether we like it or not." she finally spoke the words that her inner self was dying to say and for the first time, she felt a lot better.
His eyes darkened before he articulated," well, what am I supposed to do? Tell you that this Julius Kim is hell-bent on wiping your family off of the earth? That your family is secretly evil? I don't know anything about your family's secrets Liana and I'm guessing that you don't either. This guy, Julius Kim isn't a sharing person. "
He released a deep sigh before gripping on his hair before walking up to her and grabbed her for a hug." I just wanted to solve this as soon as possible but I need you to cooperate with me, "
She gulped and hugged him back, her hands on his back. She rested her face on his chest after they sat down again. She could feel his heart beating so fast, with the same pace as hers.
" what are going to do? " she whispered while leaning on him.
He hesitated to answer for a while before he eventually spoke up. " can you try and contact your siblings? Niko's the closest to you,"
She was not sure if she could talk to Niko as of now. Just recently, she found out that his company wasn't going too well and he was in distress. With all the new things happening in her life, she forgot that she had a responsiblity. She promised him that she would be there when he's having a problem.
"y-yeah b-but Niko's having trouble with his company. I'm not good with Nathaniel either, with all the ruckus that Bianca started,"
There was a long silent between the two of them. They were thinking about the past events and how in just a few months, their life turned badly. It was unexpected but inevitable.
" Jun, I just realized that our wedding is in a week and 4 days, " he perked up when she heard her clearly.
He groaned, hiding his excitement. "that fast? We don't even have any plans,"
