บท 10: Journey to the Past

The journey had been long but they finally made it to Manhattan island. The Netherland company had created a new settlement called Fort Nassau and they were chosen for the journey. Reydi came from a wealthy Dutch family raised in high society with the best education and taught all proper etiquette. With everything always at his request Reydi wasent at all spoiled he was kind and generous with a good heart. All he wanted was to live his life away from his title of Young Lord. He just wanted to be himself and earn his own way. Sam was different he was the son of the Nanny and grew up in the mansion. He was smart and shy and always their to help Reydi whenever he got into trouble which was alot. Sam was responsible and a good influence which is why Reydis parents begged him to acompany their son to Fort Nassau. Being close in age they had become best friends and thus Sam had earned a higher position than what he was born into. The ship finally docked but they had still not arrived it would be another 2 days journey to reach Fort Nassau. Lets go to the tavern said Reydi i want something to drink and meat delicious meat. Sam laughed and started walking towards the tavern. It was noisey and the smell of charred meat and wine filled the air. Reydi looked like he could cry from happiness. They sat down and immediately ordered a pint and food. Sam felt a little light headed he hadn't drunk in a while and left Reydi stuffing his face to go out for some air. Sam soaked in the hot sun and looked around at the beautiful sights infront of him. He went to turn around and accidentally bumped into a girl knocking her down. Im so sorry my lady he cried as he rushed to help her up. He suddenly heard soft gentle laughter it was the girl she was laughing. Its fine kind sir i was in a rush and wasn't looking thank you she said before looking up and meeting Sam's eyes. He was mesmerized by her beauty. Im Sam he said as he bend down to help her pick up the basket of sweets she was carrying. She was not from a wealthy family based on her clothes but she still looked just as elegant and proper than any nobles. Im Eli i was in a rush to deliver these i work at the Bakers her smile seemed to melt Sam's heart. Those do smell good he said. Here she said handing him a small cake i made it myself. Oh ok how much asked Sam as he went to pull out some coins. Eli shook her head no its fine consider it a thank you for helping me up. Sam's heart skipped a beat.I hope to see you around she said before hurrying away. Sam stood there holding the cake unwilling to move until she was out of sight. She's an Angel I will definitely see her again he thought to himself. He walked back in and Reydi asked whats that? A cake from the bakers. Sam took a bite it was sweet and moist and absoulutly delicious. Can i have some asked Reydi with puppy dog eyes. Sam let out a sigh sure he gave him a piece and they both agreed it was the best cake they ever had.
