After taking her bath, she took out the papers that Li Xiaozhi gave her earlier. The few papers contained some information about her mom. Tomorrow she planned to visit the hospital she's in.
She initially wanted to confront her mom's action more than a decade ago. Who would have thought that she's in a coma for so long. Her best friend did a good job in gathering the information she needed. Li Xiaozhi mentioned those were actually classified so she didn't give them to her earlier.
'Li Xiaozhi definitely is a talented individual. She'll have a bright future in the police force.' she muttered to herself before walking towards her bed.
Early the following morning, Han Meixiu sent an email to Aunt Yi Min saying she might not be able to communicate regularly from now on since she will be very busy settling down.
Madam Liu just replied and told her not hesitate to contact her just in case she needed some help.
With the address she has she immediately started her journey to the hospital where her mother was being confined.
She didn't forget Li Xiaozhi's reminder not barge in right away and rather observe first the situation. With a mask covering the lower half of her face and an oversize sunglasses as her disguise, she confidently walked out of the hotel.
Since K Country is Li Xiaozhi's turf, she was also the one who arranged her transportation. The hospital wasn't located in the main city. It took her more than an hour to finally arrived there.
She directly went up to the floor and searched for the room. When she saw the room number she was looking for, she waited for a while and looked around. Soon enough a middle aged man came out.
Han Meixiu froze.
'Isn't that her non existent father? What the hell is he doing here? Is this the reason why all those years he didn't show up in any gathering of Han Family? Were they together since her mother disappeared? Or was it only when her mother fell into a coma? Were they together and they left her alone? How heartless.'
Her mind wanted to explode because of so many questions that suddenly popped out.
She found a place where she could observe the man secretly who just went out of the room. Her so-called father talked to a nurse and both of them went inside again.
It's been a long time since she last saw her father and she almost forgot his face. From the looks of it, she thought that he aged compared to her paternal uncles.
'He must be having a hard time.' she concluded.
She waited for a few more minutes and the two went out again discussing something. The nurse then mentioned a direction to her father. After saying his thanks, he left holding a paper.
She took this chance to go inside the room. It was a private room. Though it was clean it was small. There was a woman on the bed with her eyes tightly shut. She has respirator to help her breath and some other machines directly connected to her.
Han Meixui moved closer and saw the sickly face of the woman devoid of colors. Without a doubt, the woman was her mother.
She couldn't explain what she was feeling at the moment. Her mind was in chaos and her eyes started to sting.
'What happened?'
She touched her mother's hand and felt that it was a little cold. She remembered how warm her mother's hand when they both left the Han Family after the divorce. Though she didn't understand much of it, she knew that the moment they stepped out of the main house, her mom was beaming with happiness.
'If she was happy that much when she left the Han Family, why did she disappear shortly after and left her and now she's with her dad.'
She really wanted answers but given the situation, she realized that there must be something that she should know first.
Han Meixiu turned around and before she left she glanced at her mother one more time.
Few minutes later after she went out of the room, her father came back. He immediately noticed the door that was slightly open. This door was not really working properly so in order to close it, one should exert a little more effort by lifting it up first otherwise it wouldn't close properly. All of the nurses on duty were basically aware of this and he was the last one who came out of the room.
He was sure that he closed it. 'But why is it slightly open?'
He immediately went in and checked the entire room. Nothing changed.
'Was there a new intern or nurse who came in? But they just checked his wife. The next schedule should still be few hours later. Then why?'
He decided to went out and asked around if they saw someone came in inside their room. But since most of the medical personnel were busy, he really didn't get a definite answer. He wanted to go to security office to check the CCTV footage but was also worried that the unannounced visitor, if really there was, would come back when he's not around. He decided to be more vigilant from now on and if given a time later, he would go to the security office.
Han Meixiu went back to her hotel and called Li Xiaozhi while she was on her way. She mentioned what she saw.
"I'll go to your hotel room later. We can't talk now. Just stay there and wait for me. Don't go out." Li Xiaozhi's voice was too serious that made Han Meixiu became more worried.
"Okay." She simply answered. She thought she's getting paranoid after she arrived in K country.
Her thoughts drifted back again to her parents. The hospital in all honesty was a little shabby. The location wasn't great, too. Though her mother looked like she was well provided with proper medication and equipment, she couldn't ignore the fact that there were actually better hospitals within the city.
It was as if they're deliberately hiding. 'Are they? But why?' Her well defined exquisite eyebrows wrinkled again.
She decided to wait for her best friend and let her mind rest for the mean time. She's really having a headache now.
Since Li Xiaozhi told her not to go out, she forgot her plan to roam around the city. Instead, she decided to call her Aunt Yi Min.
It took a while before she answered and her first statement was,"Meixiu dear, don't come back here for the meantime, okay?"
She didn't plan to come back but upon hearing the anxiety on her Aunt Yi Min's voice, she concluded that maybe they were found out. But she needed confirmation for her curiosity's sake. "Your son found us out?"
"Well, no.. I mean not yet. But he's starting to suspect me. Damn that brat, I can't believe he has more connection than his mother! I got to go. Sooner or later this phone might be wiretapped by that stinky brat so better not to call me for the next few weeks. I'll contact you once it's clear again."
Han Meixiu laughed and bid her goodbye.
Obviously, Madam Lui wasn't worried that her son would be able to find everything out. As for her, she's not there anymore so he couldn't do anything about it. Besides it was his won mother who set him up. She merely used his body as a prop for her 'drama'.
But she forgot one thing, the marks on his body made by her. Those were actually the core reason why the Second Young Master of the Liu family was fuming with rage.
