บท 14: Spill
"how was dinner?" Nora asked, when I approached my room, and I went inside and sat down on my bed. She sat next to me.
"it was...ok" I said and looked around in my room. The girls had cleaned up everything and kept things where they belong.
"Your welcome" Ella raised her eyebrow. I grinned and yawned and stretched on my bed like a cat.
"Someone has a smile on her face. What is it?" Nora teased.
"Well after I had finished eating, father asked me to do a favor and obviously I couldn't say no, so he said that I should show Damen around and how things work here and there..." I continued and explained them everything and I stopped when I came to remember what Damen had said about one of my sisters being in love with a slave.
They both shifted uneasily onto hearing that.
"is it true? or is it a rumor?" I frowned. Ella said nothing but Nora kept fiddling with her fingers which obviously does when nervous. I decide to drop the subject and carry on telling them that happened.
"-it was beautiful in the greenhouse and everything looked do romantic. And then suddenly out of nowhere, his arm goes behind my waist and I swear he was about to kiss me" I blushed. Ella grinned in a way that would make your cheeks hurt.
"So did you?" Nora asked.
"I did what?" I played innocent. She rolled her eyes and clearly knew I was acting.
"Spill" she pushed.
"He was about to until a shadow raised on us and I pushed him away. He just said certain things after that, bowed and left. There. I filled in every single detail" I said slowly.
"Did you find out who the shadow was?" Ella seemed tense.
"No. It disappeared right after Damen had left" I explained.
After some discussions with the twins, they left and had promised to help me. I had changed into my nightgown and had instantly fallen asleep. Curled up as a ball, I hugged myself under my blanket.
It was a little cold that tonight even with a doubled layered blanket. Not want to act lazy, I used my strength to help me get off the bed and close my glass windows. Who opened these? I closed them and go back to sleep.
