บท 5: Chapter 4: Bandit's Cave (2)
-Afternoon-
After following the animal trails for almost 4 hours we finally arrived at an entry of a cave system, undoubtedly this is the hideout of that bandit groups. Several extinguished campfires, traps for wild animals, and of course two people guarding the cave entrance, which was the reason why we're hiding right now.
"I want 3 peoples to guard the entrance, 3 peoples to scout the surrounding and looks for another entrance that can be used for them to escape, and the last will come with me. We didn't have the leisure to capture them now, so we'll clean them swiftly and return to the army quickly."
""Roger""
"Now, Go!!!"
At an instant 5 of us stormed the entrance and killed the guard before they could warn the peoples inside, while the other 3 had gone to the surrounding forest to look out for another entrance that can be used by the thieves to escape from us. Right after we killed the guard, we split again according to our role before.
Me and an unfortunate apprentice knight entered the cave with caution, we walk for some distance while avoiding numerous traps and killing several bandits stealthily. We arrived in a big room, big enough to hold 30 bandits and several captives altogether. For now, let's hide.
"I'm just guessing, but there's really 30 of them here, huh?"
"Hmm?"
"You, what's your name?"
"I'm, I'm Arta, Ma'am."
"So Arta, let me ask you, will you fight with me here or return to the others who guarding the entrance right now?"
"Eh?"
Hearing what I ask, he was surprised and confused at the same time. It was natural to looks like that after asked something like that by your superior, if he chose the first there's a chance that he'll die and if he chose the latter he'll be judged as abandoning his duty.
"Speak honestly, I don't want to endanger the members of my squad for some stupid reason."
"I, I want to return to the entrance." Said Arta teary.
"Good, now take this. There's an instruction inside, complete it with the others who're guarding the entrance. After that wait for me near the last corpse of the bandit inside." Said me after throwing a magic stone to the bandit groups. The stone explode after rolling several meters behind two bandits, throwing them to a rock and crashed their head. I stand and brandishing my sword, revealing my position, while Arta run back to the entrance.
Several brawny men walked towards me and so do I. It seems the guy in the front is the leader of the group as the other is silently walk behind him, but my feeling doesn't tell me so.
"You sure have some bravery to come here, little miss. Now, if you may, please leave all of your belongings here and get out from here, before we do anything strange to you." Said the front most bandit.
"Okay, okay, I'll go. Sorry for my rudeness from before. But, at least let me have my clothes on. I don't want to shame myself when I'm return to the city."
I dump all of my belongings right in front of them and return to the path I came before. Though it looks like I really do what they say, it's all just a bluff to make them not to wary of me. What I really want to do you ask? I'm going to make the cave collapse from inside out after I meet up with my comrade. But, when I'm about to leave the room, 7 men block my way.
Damn, how troublesome...
