บท 8: Realisation 2.0
When Li Jun came back, it was earlier this year. He seems to become more quiet and aloof. Maybe during his mission, something had happened. Li Jun never wanted to talk about it, so Yueming let it pass. One day, their houseman buddies wanted to go out together, Yueming declined their invitation saying that her sister was unwell.
Li Jun asked about Yueling for the first time after his return.
"A month ago, her boyfriend betrayed her with her colleague. She was devastated because they had know each other since college. But later, she moved on slowly. Five days ago, our parents came. We found her biological mother and she wanted to meet her daughter alone. But yesterday, she was drugged by her mother. Luckily, she could speed dialled me and they didn't discover her phone. Her mother sold her to a man."
"Where is she?"
"My house."
"I'll go with you. You can keep her company, I'll prepare some food. I bet she haven't taken anything."
"Could not. She was crying for the whole night and was sleeping when I went to work."
When they entered the house, Yueming went to look for his sister in her room. She was still there unmoved but her eyes were red. He knew that last night must be very traumatic to her. He called for her name but to no answer. He sat there talking to her, soothing her knowing that she can hear him. Suddenly, he received an emergency call from his department. He rushed to the hospital and asked Li Jun to look after his sister.
When he came home, he saw her sister sleeping on her bed and his friend sitting on the chair besides the bed. At that moment he didn't realise how considerate his friend was.
Later the next morning, his sister looked a lot better than before and he did ask if she had eaten last night and she said yes. Not known to him was how Li Jun make her sister eat.
'If he really likes my sister, why didn't he confess?'

Li Jun looked at the scenery outside. This mission is not a new one, rather it is the continuation of his previous mission. It is so far the hardest mission he ever encountered. Human trafficking.
"Wolf (Li Jun's code name), this is the current update of the case. You are ought to find the current place where the victims were hidden. Team leader Zhang will guide you later." Li Jun nodded. Team leader Zhang was also his mentor for the past few missions.
How long will it be? Li Jun sighed.
"Oh, why did you sigh? Regret joining this team, huh?", teased Captain Shu.
"No, sir."
"Aish, you are being formal again." Li Jun smiled. This Captain Shu is also his late father's friend.
"No, uncle." He repeated.
"Son, I don't know what bothers you but whatever in your heart, you should sort it out. This mission may took longer than it seems." Captain Shu patted Li Jun's shoulder.
"ring..ring.."
Li Jun looked at Captain Shu asking to excuse himself to answer the call.
"Hmm?"
"Do you like my sister?" Li Jun's heart skipped a bit. He was silent for a moment before saying,
"Too late. She doesn't like me. Haha." His eyes were dimmed but his lips curved as if he wanted to console himself.
