บท 2: Mission
A woman in mid twenties wearing a military type A uniform (which was used for formal occassions and gathering by the millitary) sitting still with a cold yet dignified posture at the visitor's lounge of the president's office.
Her appearance stirred the men and women that working in the office. They're throwing some glances at her liked she was a celebrity.
Who wouldn't amazed by her presences? She was the only woman who entered the "Elite Force" of the military. This may not be known in the public but for the people who had been working in the government had knowledge about their existence and some of their achievements.
Seeing one of them especially her made them prepare a paper and pen for an autograph but no one mustered a courage to approached her. The secretary also was one of them. She really want to took a picture of her but refrained from doing so because she doesn't want to get fired.
A few moment later, the secretary call her name to let her in the office.
With a snappy movements she entered the office. Inside the room resided the most important yet feared persons in the whole country. They're the Head General of the Department of Defense and the country's very own President and the Commander in Chief.
"General Leandro Fuentes and President Prudence Bathala. Captain Calypso Fuentes reporting for duty" she addresses the two persons with a salute a and with response they have also stand up in their prespectives seats and salute to their lady captain.
The president can't hold himself and let out a chuckle while still saluting. "C'mon, Caly you're always so serious" the president teased her.
" *sigh* stop teasing my daughter President" reprimand by the general.
"Fine, of course you are father and daughter tandem. I surrender " and he put his hands in the air while still laughing.
"Take your seat Captain so we can start our meeting" the General said to her while shaking his head in disbelief because of the other person's behavior.
This seen was not new to her so she just sitted and wait for them to commence the meeting. She seated down in the chair opposites to the general whom was also her father as mention. The office was a traditional look but it was also touched by a modern designs that a local artists of the country created.
She seated properly like a good soldier could be in front of her leaders. Same as her father who was seated straight in his chair opposite from her. This made the president took a deep sighed in this senario. He just seated beside his friend and served some teas for them.
They quitely drank their teas. The president doesn't liked the silence so he started the agenda of this meeting.
"Captain, being part of the elite force burden you for a heavy responsibility especially the safety of this country. This made us decided to assigned this important mission to you" the president handed her the folder with a classified written on it.
With such excitement upon hearing the word mission she hurriedly get the folder from the president and open it in her seat and read.
Name: Juan Pedro R. Bathala
Wait, this guy is the oldest son of the president and the twin brother of Major Bathala her superior. She thought.
It didn't show in her face how confuse she could be but the two old men can tell it already.
"As you can see he is the president's oldest son. He is coming back in our country tommorow. He will be the leading scientist of the research and development of the country in different aspects. With his ability and intelligence many countries and organizations on surface or even the undergrounds want him. And they will get him in many means. His life is very dangerous right know so I assign you to be his personal bodyguard from now on" explained by her father.
A long silenced was covered the room.
"Sorry, Commander(she is reffering to the president) but I thing Major Colonel Juan Pablo Bathala is the most suitable in this mission not me" she said.
"Captain, major colonel is assigned for a foreign operation at the dessert country" her father answer.
This time the president get's up in his seat and seated beside her then grab gently her hands said, "I beg you Caly, you are the only person I can trust right now to protect my son from any danger in the future."
She was taked aback. Her commander was begging her? She was so confused right noe
First of all, she never had this kind of mission before. She can be janitor, teacher and etc. for undercover mission but being a personal bodyguard was not one of them.
But she had to do this because it was her father and her commander were the one that saved her. This mission she had to this.
"I'll take the mission" she said.
