Lillian Grey noticed Giselle's figure in the mall. She devised a plan to get away from her friend, Anna and succeeded. After a quick search, Lillian saw Giselle inside a café shop. Without any hesitation, Lillian approached the unguarded girl easily.
Giselle sat at the table nearby to the entrance. She faced the outside view and was able to see the passing by people. She remained calm in her seat sipping her drink slowly. Her mind got fully occupied with something else. Her eyes glanced at the people passing by the shop. Nothing mattered until her gaze landed upon an approaching figure.
Giselle got frightened of Lillian's presence.
...
Lillian locked eyes with Giselle as soon as they've met from the point of vision. On her way to the shop, Lillian kept her firm gaze on Giselle refusing to evade it even for a second. She entered the cafe shop and quickly took the turn towards Giselle's table, grabbed the empty seat in front of Giselle and sat down.
"What are you doing here?" Giselle charged.
Her eyes kept browsing the area, relentlessly.
"Uh- nothing, I just saw you, and I wanted to say 'hi'-"Lillian answered casually controlling her now fast-paced heartbeats.
Giselle stayed quiet. She didn't want to reply or even talk. However, Lillian expected for a reply. Silence filled the air as both refused to speak.
...
Being calm might work for Giselle but, Lillian reached her threshold point, forcing her to initiate the conversation. She didn't want to back out now.
"So, you're here by yourself?" Lillian tried speaking.
Giselle only nodded.
Lillian glanced at the bags overflowing around Giselle's legs.
'Did she buy all of this for herself?' – Lillian thought.
By now, Lillian would try communicating only to hear Giselle's improper response. Lillian's mind started going crazy with the uncomfortable situation.
"You're a shopper, I guess. Anna would love to hang out with you." Lillian stated.
She even tried to invite her indirectly by mentioning one of her friends love for shopping and yet, Giselle only shrugged, her eyes still investigating the area to check if someone's notcing or not.
Lillian Grey couldn't take it anymore. She sighed.
"Alright."
Lillian exhaled loudly, her breathing, became louder. She's on the verge of losing all of her composure.
"Why are you acting like this to me?" Lillian asked directly daring Giselle.
"You confessed to me weeks ago. Trying to smile happily every single time I look at you. And bam!-"
"You're all avoiding me suddenly, and I'm sure you feel very uneasy too right now. Don't you?"
"What the hell is happening?"
"Care to explain?"
"I've been noticing you for the past two weeks, and you refused to even look at me. What is happening?"
"and don't think that I didn't notice it. You've been hanging out with those girls a lot lately. You don't look like the person you used to be or, even you seemed to be. You have changed, Giselle. What's going on?"
"You know you can talk to me about anything."
Lillian shot questions one after the other, making Giselle anxious from the situation. Giselle started feeling restless. She kept squirming as if it is Lillian who's holding her back from leaving.
"Answer me, Giselle" Lillian raised her voice, hands slamming on the table causing everyone to look. Giselle flinched. She felt like being trapped completely.
She would refuse to talk and preferred to have stayed silent. But the situation got worse. She never thought Lillian would get angry soon. Her heart raced in panic. She refused to look at Lillian, avoiding her burning eyes.
"You should forget about that Lillian. I did it on a whim. Don't get bothered by it. It's j- just-"Giselle reached the limit, her voice cracked on the way making her pause.
"It's just a prank?" Lillian completed the sentence, trying to mock the poor girl.
Giselle's eyes widened. She fought with herself mentally.
"Believe whatever you want it to be," Giselle said, her words filled with agony.
Lillian's mind raged in anger as in why the girl is behaving in such a way. It made her think negatively leading up to confronting Giselle by bringing out the confession once again.
"So, I hope you're having fun now!" Lillian said in an insulting tone.
Giselle's eyes flickered at the moment. She looked at Lillian with a curious face unable to understand the hidden meaning behind it.
Getting no response once again made Lillian infuriated. She hissed out loud.
"I see. So, you aren't even interested in talking to me right! I hope you can sleep peacefully at night by doing such malicious things to strangers for fun." Lillian said in a monotone and then left the place. She didn't bother to look back. Something inside of her made her angry. She couldn't withstand or breathe the same air as Giselle. That's right; she hated Giselle deep down. Even though she believed that Giselle might be a gentle girl without any cunning acts, but seeing it live now and experiencing made Lillian realize how pathetic she behaved for the sake of the fake confession.
Lillian stamped hard on the floor with every step she took; her sneakers clattered against the floor, making a loud sound. As she kept walking, she felt a stranger's hand caught hers making Lillian twist and turn to face them. It is Giselle.
She caught up with Lillian. But the moment she saw Lillian's face, Giselle froze on her spot refusing to utter a word. By now, she realized that was a mistake. She should have left it like that. But, seeing Lillian angry didn't let Giselle feel at ease. However, facing the angry beast now, Giselle felt worse.
...
Lillian who got startled by the incident patiently waited for Giselle to speak up. However, her patience ran out, and anger took over again.
Lillian grabbed Giselle by hand, pulled over to the nearby wall, yanked her against the wall, making her frighten. Giselle gasped at the scene. Her breathe got unsteady. Lillian felt the puff of air coming out roughly from Giselle's mouth. Her eyes feared, refusing to look at Lillian.
"Do you have something to say?" Lillian asked.
Her stance still steady and her gaze, unwavering. She held Giselle by her shoulders, tightly. She wasn't going to let her run away or flee out of sight.
Giselle throbbed with Lillian standing so close to her. Her mind went blank as she completely forgot the purpose of chasing after Lillian Grey.
Giselle shook her head, saying that she doesn't have anything to say.
It only made the beast go on full-mode angry.
"Do I look stupid to you?" Lillian asked, her voice sent out wrath waves.
"N- No" Giselle muttered.
"Look, girl, I'm controlling myself like hell right now because I don't know why the hell I'm not able to see you as one those ugly bitches talking crap behind others. Don't test my patience. There's only a limit to how long I can find all your actions to be amusing. I get it; you played your prank together and succeeded. I was a fool to let it even get into me. Now, don't cross my path ever again. If you do, I'll make you regret it forever."
Lillian warned and then released her. She left Giselle hanging against the wall. Giselle felt the intensity. She got scared of seeing this side of Lillian Grey for the first time.
