Draxx focused his might on Felix who yelled out in pain. He tried rolling yet the will of the token overwhelmed him, so screaming was all that was allowed. Seeing this and Draxx's seeming exhausted state, the patriarch was slightly conflicted. If Draxx were to sacrifice half of his life essence, his command over the token would have wavered. Thus, his hold over the clan would be extinguished.

As he looked on his favored son, Felix's suffering, however, there were more pros than cons giving in to the demands of Draxx. Felix was the future of the clan; his death would regress the development made these many years. Though he might lose face giving into his bastardly son's demands, the future of the clan was of utmost priority.
