บท 5: CHAPTER-4 I JUST ATE IT!
n an unknown area 5 figures were looking at the results of the first test in their own screen. If the scientists who gave the training to Fin and Eva were here , with their memories intact they could have guessed them instantly just by looking at their figures. Yes ,they were the very same people who conducted the experiment. Only difference was they were not wearing any masks .
Everyone was given the same test but depending on the branch they chose they would be assigned different character for example Karl was made as king in the test and he was supposed to lead their guild to victory while Eva and Fin were given the role of scholars, those who have chosen sports as option were given the position of general and so on.
According to the five people ,it was impossible to clear the test because the knowledge of eight years old was limited .In fact the same test was given in a slightly difficult way while students challenge inner gates which was after the outer gate and was usually challenged by students above ten years. Judges only expected the candidates to reduce their guild's casualty as much as they could.
While they were comparing the casualties of each candidate ,a name popped up with hundred casualties .Five mysterious figures including Lisa was surprised and one of the old man said "Good there are some excellent seedlings in the group "
One must know that their standards were so high that they didn't casually appreciate a candidate regardless of his good result. The average casualty in the last entrance test a year ego was thousand .It was normal for a 8 year old who was entering the Gate 2.
The guild consisted an average of 2000 people.From the moment the Markel Institute was born there was only handful of candidates who had casualties of less then 100 and all of them who achieved that feat had excellent achievement in their future.
Rest of the group nodded with a smile.Suddenly a muscular guy asked Lisa "Sister what do you think the result would be for your candidate?"
Lisa was nervous inside but said in a casual manner "I am also curious".
The two muscular guys with handsome faces were actually brothers of Lisa and two old fellow were their father and grandfather .If word got out that the people behind the mysterious organization were a single family ,there would be an uproar in the society.
In every century the organization designated 3 candidates with 3 types of roles. Normal candidates like Karl were called as soldiers as they were given training from their own family and their future achievement was expected to be average .Average here is a relative term ,when it was compared with common man's achievement it would be like the sky and mud .
Next is the hierarchy would be the generals who were given the training from the organization itself .In every century only handful of candidates had privilege of that training for example Fin and Eva were among them .Their future achievements would be above average compared to the soldiers.
Finally there were Ruler candidates they were not given any special training .They would be originally generals and due to their lucky encounters and fate their potential surpasses the generals by a huge margin. In the history of the mysterious organization only handful of Rulers were emerged out of generals.
So the main component differentiated between a general and a ruler was luck and fate .Even tough it was intangible ,it was important because a promising candidate with an extraordinary IQ and EQ may encounter a premature death before he could reach his full potential .
All the members of the family were fostering 2 generals .Lisa's generals were Fin and Eva while her other family members had their own generals .In total for 21st century they were fostering 10 general .Among them who would become the ruler ,no one knew. The candidate who just got 100 casualties was Lisa's father's generals .
Lisa waited patiently and Eva's result came with 92 casualty .Lisa became extremely happy and gave a charming smile that could topple the world. Lisa's youngest brother Mike caught his sister's expression and told "Don't become too smug soon there was another 2 tests "Mike was competitive guy who didn't accept defeat even from his family.
Lisa didn't bother about Mike's remark and waited for Fin's result .She knew his result would be better than Eva .When she was in charge of his training she observed his temperament and found it was calm and thoughtful. This temperament was hard to come by .She spared no effort and gave him all sorts of environment which thoroughly programmed his mind.
Suddenly Lisa froze in her seat ,staring at the screen like a lifeless sculpture .Her elder brother Gibbs was surprised from her sister's expression and glanced at the screen in front of her sister and froze with an open mouth where one could easily fit a chicken .Others also observed something was wrong and turned toward Lisa's screen .
Mike yelled all of sudden "Impossible ,there must be glitch in the system ".Others knew it was not possible for a glitch to appear in the test .This test was formed by the ancestor of the mysterious organization and was functioning well since thousands of years.
Lisa recovered and said with a deep voice "I think we are witnessing the emergence of a ruler" this casual remark coming from her sent chills down their spine .It was no doubt that they were seeing the result of Fin with a casualty of zero.
In the history of the mysterious organization there was no one who achieved that result in the first test at the age of 8.There were students in the inner gates who rarely achieve that feat at the age of 18 to 20.Even the ruler candidates showed their achievement around the age of 18 .
Fin's result thoroughly shocked the five judges .Mike couldn't come up with anything to say "lets see if he could manage the same result in the other tests too".
Lisa's grandfather Muller being the eldest of the group suddenly remembered something "If my guess is correct our ancestor might have given some reward for those who clear the first test perfectly ". Lisa and others quickly realized something and got up .They headed directly to the test hall.
In the meantime there was heated discussions on the test hall regarding the first test .Candidates were telling their experience as vividly as possible for their friends and family. Eva was dumping all her experience to Fin's head with an animated expressions. Fin was just nodding here and there, he didn't bother to explain his results as he thought it was not anything unusual. He was preoccupied with the thought of the mysterious crystal.
"Everyone the results have been arrived ,those who have scores below the average will not be participating in the next phase of the test. The average score this time is 958 casualties .This is an all time record in the history of the Markel Institute.
The 400 candidates who scored below the requirement please leave the institute ,the rest 600 can take the next test when they are ready .The second test will test your emotions .If you couldn't handle the pressure shout help 3 times and you will be teleported .Those who remain longer will be advancing to the next stage .Good luck"
Four hundred candidates who scored below the requirement were disappointed and many started crying .It must be noted that they were just 8 years old.Their parents tried their best to comfort them but they themselves were sad and there was no one to comfort them .They could only send their children to the normal schools now .
On the other hand those who cleared the test were jubilant. No one new anyone's score as they were not displayed ,only those who passed and failed were announced.Even the test organizing teacher didn't know about the score forget about the rest.
Eva stopped her rumbling and asked Fin about his casualties .Fin only told less than 100 .He didn't want to attract too much attention and wanted to be a low key as much as possible .He knew if he told Eva ,she would scream and attract unnecessary attention.
Jessica who was wearing white top and blue jeans with a pony tail walked at Fin with a cute smile .She couldn't be compared to Eva but was definitely was a top beauty. Fin who was busy chatting with Eva noticed her but didn't care . Jessica pouted her small lips "Hi ,I am Jessica ,you are?". Her eyes were expectant.
Fin turned towards her "You can call me Fin".
Jessica glanced at Eva beside him but Eva didn't bother to tell her name . Jessica didn't care "I just came here to tell you all the best"
Fin said thank you. He also wished her luck .He didn't know why she wanted to befriend him but in the end he didn't care.
When everyone was ready to attend the next test ,organizer stopped them suddenly and told them to wait for 10 minutes .He signaled Fin to go with him .Everyone already knew Fin's background was not normal and they didn't find it strange ,only their jealous and envy increased .Fin thought his intention of being a low key was no longer possible .
Fin thought that it should be related to him being successfully completing the test. He knew if he exposed the secret of the purple crystal he would definitely attract a catastrophe to him and his family as the saying goes rich man should keep his wealth hidden .So he decided to keep that as a secret .Moreover he was unaware of where that crystal went .If he told anyone he got the crystal but somehow it vanished ,no one in the right mind would believe him.
Organizing teacher who was walking with Fin was observing him closely. Fin couldn't take it anymore and asked "Elder can you tell me ,how you know me?". Organizing teacher expected this question and said with a smile "you will know one day ,don't worry about it .Concentrate on your tests.By the way how much casualty did you manage?"
Fin was puzzled but didn't question him further ,he said casually "I think it should be around 100".Organizing teacher was shocked and laughed like a maniac for some time and patted Fin with smile "Good,good ,good..no wonder you have got invited here by the higher authority"
Fin followed the organizer closely and stopped outside a door. Elder entered some code and told Fin to enter. Fin nodded and entered the door "His temperament is so good ,no wonder he got such a high result. I have a unique talent of recognizing the temperament of a person ,otherwise it was impossible even for to find such a seedling. I need to take him as my disciple as soon as possible" his lips had a creepy smile.
Fin found himself in a dark room and there was no lights except where he was stood .He saw 5 people standing and waiting for him .He couldn't recognize their faces or figures as the darkness enveloped the rest of the room.
He simply said "Greetings to elders" and then slightly bowed. Lisa nodded with appreciation .She was on cloud 9 because her efforts had been finally paid off .
Mark and other members started scrutinizing him .Mark said without wasting any time "What did you get after completing the test?"
Fin was taken back but he recovered instantly .Since he already prepared for this ,he didn't panic .He knew his every expression would be thoroughly scanned by the elders .
He told sincerely "Reporting to the elder, I have got a fruit after completing the test"
Everyone including Lisa was overjoyed their conjecture was correct , ancestor really prepared a gift for the extraordinary candidate. Mark's eyes twinkled with greed "Where is it, quickly tell?".
Fin was relived that he made the right choice .He told without blinking his eyes "I ate it"
Mark was dumbfounded and got suddenly angry .He knew no one would keep a fruit in their pocket .But he really wished to see what sort of gift ancestor prepared .He didn't give up "Are you sure ? If you lied, you know the consequence right?".
Fin told respectfully "Forgive me elder I didn't know it was important .I thought it was just a fruit and consumed without thinking much"
Lisa was observing Fin closely and knew he had some secrets but didn't alarm anyone .She knew him from the moment he was born ,so his every attitude was thoroughly memorized by her .
She thought 'Everyone has their own secret and to become a Ruler candidate it was necessary'.She didn't at this point that she would regret this sentence dearly in the future. She simply gave him thumbs up in her heart for his flawless performance.
Finally Mark gave up and told him to leave .Fin silently went back to the second test .Under the envious gazes Eva loaded him with questions .He simply told he was just asked about the first test.
Finally everyone started entering the door ..
