She stood up nervously. "What about the girl? Has she gone home?"

The actor shook his head. 'I didn't see her when I went to the lift lobby. I went to the front desk and the manager said nothing about having seen her.'

"Could she have left?"

"How is that possible?" The actor said, "The manager had been standing by the main entrance of the hotel and he claimed that he had not seen the girl at all. I went to the back door and the security guard there said he hadn't seen her either."
