บท 108: Marin 25th - Rose
"Leo, how much farther is our destination?"
Leo turned to Hunter, "Not far, about a minute or two and we will be there."
Hunter looked in front as Luna came form the rear. Leo guided Pip to a stop and the other Fer'Longa stopped at well, Hunter looked around to see a camp not far, off in the distance.
"Is that them?"
Leo nodded at Hunter, "Yeah, that's them. Be careful, they might attack first and ask questions later." Hunter nodded as he got off his Fer'Longa. Luna followed suit. She walked over to Leo and Pip. "You two take care, and I hope thing go alright. No telling what might happen."
Luna thanked Leo, as he headed back into the forest. Luna let out a nervous sigh before turning to Hunter. "Ready?"
Hunter nodded, "Yeah," He tied his sword closed, "Let us get going, I would rather get this over with as soon as possible."
Luna nodded as they head over to the camp. The men and women stared at them, readying themselves to attack. Hunter could feel their cold stares targeting him. He looked out of the corner of his eye. He could tell they knew who he was as he recognized many of them from Azoths forces.
A man was sharpening his sword when he looked up at Hunter and Luna walking towards him. "What do you want puppet?"
Hunter felt stiff as the man spoke, he shuddered he before opening him mouth, "We came to ask for your aid."
"What aid does a puppet need from us. We deserted our country, and are labled at traitors? Why would they send you, Hunter?"
Hunter felt his body clam up, while Luna stepped forward, "We are not part of the Faremin Kingdom but are—"
"Shut your mouth, I wasn't talking to you. I was talking to the clone—" The man spat before Hunter stepped in front of Luna.
"Enough, I am not a clone, and we do not have time explain every detail. But I am no longer Azoths puppet. Lady Luna and I have been on a journey to seek out allies to stop Demora. We were told about form some theyans that came from another land. We had come a long way would appreciate it if you showed some courtesy."
The man stared at Hunter, "I see? And who is she then? This Lady Luna?"
Luna went to introduce herself when hunter stopped her. He shook his head, before turning to the man. "Lady Luna is the current reincarnation ot the goddess Lunatica. And that's all you need to know."
The man raised his brow at her, "You jest? Her? Lunatica? Do think I was born yesterday? Demora would have had her killed an infant before she got this old?"
Hunter closed his eyes and gritted his teeth, "I know it might be hard to fathom, but I ensure you it is true. Her life was spared out sheer luck."
The man could not contain himself as he laughed at Hunter, "You are crazy, why spin a stupid story like that, even if you could prove it doesn't mean I will believe you or your woman. Either you leave or stay as our prisoners?"
Luna went to open her mouth but noticed Hunters expression telling her not interfere. She stayed herself once more. Hunter turned to the man and sat down. The man stared as he watched Hunter.
"If that is the case then I will become your prisoner, just keep her out of this. She is innocent, and I wish for Lady Luna not to become a prisoner."
The man sat in amazement of Hunters action, "Very well then, you two take him to the cages. And find a place for the lady to rest. Once we make it to the Faremin kingdom she will be able to go on her marry way."
Luna turned to Hunter as they took him away, "Hunter, wait you don't have to do this?"
Hunter looked at her, "Luna, I have done many things, but seeing these men and women, reminds me of what wrongs I did to them. This is my burden to bear. Everything will work out of the better. Dino will take good care of you until things clear up."
Luna began tear up, Hunter, please don't do this, they will kill you, the current—"
Hunter shook his head, "Luna, I am sorry but not another word. I must bear my cross here. If they kill me then that's that." The men pulled on Hunters arm, "I am coming, you don't have to be too rough with me."
Luna watched as they took Hunter away. Dino stared at her seeing her break down before him. Dino began to question what Hunter motives were. If what he said was true or was, he played by them, like a fool. He gripped his sword before setting it a side. Luna fell to her knees crying.
"Get up." Dino demanded; Luna looked up at him. "I said get up!"
He pulled Luna to her feet and guided her to a tent. Luna did not look at him.
"I wish we never heard about you."
Dino looked over his shoulder, before pulling back the curtain. "Here, you will stay here until we are ready to get moving. I do not want any funny business form you, or you will be joining Hunter."
Luna closed her eyes feeling defeated and trapped as she felt helpless in helping Hunter. "Lovell, why did you have to leave me?"
Dino listened to her, before walking away, "Lovell? Who is that?" Dino walked over to the cages where he had Hunter placed. Hunter sat quietly in the cage as Dino walked up to him. "So, you sticking to your sob story?"
Hunter glanced over to Dino, "Yes."
Dino summoned shards of ice at Hunter neck. "Talk, who is this Lovell? That woman of yours said something about him?"
Hunter sighed before standing up to met him face to face, "His name is Lovell Krisnik, Son of Terrance Krisnik and Ulva Wolfheart, late Princess of Inroar and my twin brother."
Dino grabbed Hunter by his shirt, "Do not lie to me you bag of scum!"
Hunter forced his hand off him. "Then tell me do clones have belly buttons?"
Dino blankly stared at him, "No, because there are artificial people born form a incubator system. Why do you—" Hunter lifted his shirt, Dino stared at Hunter's stomach, "What in the hell?"
Hunter pulled his shirt back down, "Yeah, shocking right? when I found this out, I was shocked. But it made sense too. Lovell saved me, after I was kicked out and left for dead almost two and a half years ago." Hunter moved back to where he was sitting earlier, "Lovell was a Ren-Ky warriors and Lady Luna's lover, in a sense. Vann pinned me against him so that I could save my best friend Kyle."
Hunter gritted his teeth trying to hold back the tears, Dino watched as he saw a man he despised break down before him for the first time. "Let me guess, you killed Lovell and Kyle left you to rot for your actions."
Hunter shook his head, "No, Vann planned for Kyle to be killed by Lovells blade. Sending me into a frenzy. Lovell sacrificed his life to save me and it worked. I killed him and now am paying that by helping the one he loved. So, if you think I could never be—well—like other people. You were wrong. No matter what you do to me. I will not fight back."
Dino stared at Hunter; he was ready to pounce on him but stayed himself form doing so. "Fine, we will see how long you last before you crack and attack your assailant?"
