Finally came the moment of truth. Arius said goodbye to Dante, and then went off towards the front entrance with Asrael and two men.
Lufti walked beside Asrael, and as curious as he was as to why his boss spilt the others into groups, he couldn't ask. Asrael always kept his plans to himself.
The man dressed in black sat in the place next to the gate. If Zuna was there, she would know that it wasn't the same person she had seen earlier.
Without being asked to, Lufti went up to the man with an amiable smile and casual attitude. In short, they had requested a meeting with Alfred Bennett, on behalf of... Asrael Nili? Whom, the man did not know, yet he still made a call to the man in charge.
Moments passed before they were let in, it was a little too easy. Asrael expected a little more resistance.
They met with someone at the front and were then led in by a rather cautious amount of body guards. They made their way through the halls of the mansion before being brought into the dining hall.
Alfred Bennett sat at a round table on one end of the room, and they were pushed to sit at the same table across from the man. Though, Bertie thought it rude and began criticizing their manners.
"I apologize for my guards." Alfred responded to the cry of injustice, without showing any genuine concern. In returned he received a 'Hmph!' from Berite. "I hope we can have a friendly conversation. And I would like to know who Asrael Nili is..."
Arius pointed a finger at the young teenager beside him, even though he was completely aware that what Alfred wanted to know was the significance of who he was.
"Who sent you?" Alfred furrowed his brows. He figured the man with dark hair and tanned skin was the man in charge of their small group. Asrael looked to be about fifteen years old, so Alfred wouldn't have guessed.
"I sent myself." Asrael responded.
"Fine, then don't tell me. I already know who sent you." Alfred didn't believe them, and acted as if he had everything figured out.
"Then pray tell, who sent us?" Lufti inquired.
"Pierre Keanu. I can't begin to understand why." Alfred was truly confused on this point. "And don't bother denying it, the little bunny already confessed."
Arius was shook, did Zuna really say it was Pierre? Pfft-! He laughed in his mind until he realized the implications... What if he got recognized? What he looked like as Jarres wasn't public, but some areas of the internet held a lot of information.
Asrael said something to Alfred while Arius took a look around him. The room was fancy and decked out with expensive decorations. He was quite sure one of the painting were famous, he almost recognized the girl with red hair in the portrait. Well, it was wrong to say he recognized the girl, but it was something about the painting that had a sort of familiarity.
"You like the painting?" Alfred shifted the conversation with keen eyes as he noticed Arius paying the portrait attention. Asrael wasn't even slightly agitated by being so blatantly ignored.
"Yes, the red hair and green eyes have a beautiful contrast. " Arius looked at him curiously. "...Where did you get it?
"My mother-in-law painted it years ago." He told Arius, and just as he was about to continue one of his butlers came to whisper something in his ear. His expression sank as he spoke sternly with a layer of ice, "Restrain them." He motioned towards the group.
Guards quickly walked behind them, grabbing their arms and pulling their hands behind their backs. Lufti struggled, until he saw the calmness coming from Arius and Asrael. Berite was another story, as he continued to yell and wrestle. Though the cook was the most unfit of all the members, he was amusing and ruthless with his words.
Through the door on the right, seven men were pushed in. Six of them looked down at the floor in defeat, and Kane... his face was gleaming with triumph. Asrael had to hide the sly smile that snuck to his lips.
