บท 18: Night attack

Within the village, the new villagers came inside and were shown to their new homes by the original inhabitants.

Once the fence gates had been closed those several men spread out and took positions around the village on lookout for beast that may try to sneak in.

"Kuren, This is Farra, the Head warrior of the village we just took, He is an Intermediate Rank 1 warrior, he will be incharge of the southern part of the village, you will take the northen end, I will take the Eastern side of the village and Chaos here shall take the Western side of the village." Giving out her flurry of orders she dismounted Chaos moving towards her eastern gates.

But before she could take more than a few steps a loud horn like sound shook the grounds accompanied by a voice, "BEAST ATTACK!" The voice itself coming from the eastern gates.

All four of the most powerful people in the village square disappeared and reappeared a moment later at the eastern gate.

Outside the gate were several tens of pairs of eyes looking into the village, and from the darkness the aura of all of these beast are certainly no less than Low Rank 1 for each and every one of them.

"The only way this many beats gathers to attack at the same time is if someone is directing them, most likely an Advanced Rank 1 grade monster!" With a horrified voice one of the villagers guarding that gate spoke out causing all of the surrounding guards morale to plummet.

But it didn't last long, because this was also when Chaos released his Advanced Rank 1 aura, causing everyone to let out surprised sighs of amazement and look towards Pan in reverence from what they thought was being able to tame such a beast.

It was also then that Pan's voice let out another flurry of orders, "Anyone under the Rank 1 realm is to form groups of five every group will take on a single Rank 1 beast for each group, work together, their will be three defenders and two attacks in each squad, form quickly!" She said jumping onto Chaos' back and drawing her Warhammer.

Within a few moments the villagers had all headed her words and formed into their squads, it was also then that the beasts launched their attack on the village, the fence walls doing nothing to stop their encroachment on the village being directly smashed into the ground, the several beasts attacking all charged the moment their bodies were exposed into the light but they couldn't get the results they wanted since the squads were just barely holding up.

It was also then that Farra and Kuren both attacked, both attacking towards the beasts already in combat to take them down faster and relieve stress and tension from the squads having a rough time holding.

Meanwhile, Chaos and Pan walked straight through the group of Beasts unchallenged heading out into the forest since Chaos had already picked up on the scent of the Advanced Rank 1 creature and were going to engage, the faster they kill it the less the chances of them taking casualties will be.

Walking into the forest for a few hundred meters a chill ran up their spines and Chaos moved barely dodging the attacking venom breath.

Behind them stood in all it's twenty meter tall glory, a Wyrm, with a Advanced Rank 1 creature dead in its mouth.

'It's a TRAP!' Chaos and Pan both thought at the same time, it was then that the Wyrm moved, crunching the creature in its mouth it send out a jet of powerful venom straight at them.

Moving out of the way a small bit of Chaos' fur had been touched by the venom breath and completely melted by the toxicity of the breath.

Using his own breath in response Chaos fired back at the Wyrm hitting it cleanly on its side, leaving scorch marks, and some superficial wounds only managing to aggravate it.

Using its pair of wings it send a gust wind onto the ground causing the venom that had previously already landed and melted the ground to go into the air again and attack towards them.

Jumping off of the back of Chaos, Pan put her Warhammer in front of her aiming at the venom fog, and releasing a gust of wind blowing it away from them and back towards the Wyrm.

The gas being extremely toxic can only be detoxified once it enters the wyrms body, but the scales were not so lucky, being directly melted by the venom.

Looking surprised for a moment, Hate filled its eyes, it's precious scales had been defiled like this by its own venom, what a humiliation.

It was then that the Wyrm eyes also landed onto the Warhammer with the gem im bedded.

Upon seeing the gem and feeling the familiar aura coming off the gem it came to a realiziation and let out a mournful roar.

ROAR!

The Wyrm now completely enraged started going berserk, sending its venom in all direction not caring about the damage to itself, just trying to melt the bastards that took its child from it.

But this is the way of the world now, you get what you take and you lose what you can't keep, those with little strength are destined to lose it all while those with power are destined to take the world as a pearl and steal it.

Backing off several tens of meters both Chaos and Pan split up on different sides of the Wyrm, with it acting the way it was now, and it's scales weak and melting, which was its only real defense against them, it was destined to die eventually.

'Chaos I have a plan....' Pan said to him telepathically relaying the plan in quick succession.

Having heard it Chaos immediately moved to action, sending a fully powered breath he shot it right onto the weak point on the Wyrms body, seeing the flaming breath coming towards it the Wyrm tried to dodge but it had already trapped itself not allowing itself any way to escape with its venom breath all around it and its scales evaporated, the pain it was enduring was unimaginable, to the point of it going insane, the flame breath coming towards it, it welcomed it, finally being allowed to reunite with its family in the after life.

The hatred and grudge leaving its eyes after the breath landed, and its eyes then going completely dead when the wind blades from behind it landed seven inches below the head, decapitating it.

With the Wyrm dead the battle at the village also died down with the beasts that weren't killed running away and the villagers picking through the rubble of what was once their houses, helping each other and securing the village in case any of the beast tried to come back for a round two.

Meanwhile in the forest Pan released a breeze of wind from her body sending the venom away from the village.

The total length of the Wyrm's body was a staggering hundred twelve meters long, when it was fighting it was coiled together, now with it dead its body naturally slumped allowing for it to extend to its true size.

It was also once the two of them had gotten close that the Warhammer in Pan's hand started vibrating, sending a feeling of yearning for the Wyrm crystal.

"Chaos, could Wamu have this crystal?" Pan asked excitedly, already digging for the crystal since she knew Chaos would be okay with it.

"Sure." He said lazily, trying to recover as much of his power as possible as fast as possible since that last breath really took its toll on him, breaking through the venom breath enveloping the Wyrm and still burning into it took over half of his power reserves.

It was also then while he was resting and recuperating that the people of the village come looking for them, precisely at the moment that Pan touched the Wyrm crystal blinding lights shot out of the Warhammer enveloping everything within ten meters.
