Both of them slowly ate their breakfast and before Mei Ling had the chance to show off her power,
"We should go" "Ah?" Mei Ling had a dumbfounded look while Jack had an indifferent expression.
In a few minutes, Mei Ling collected everything while having an 'I have been bullied' written on her face. Jack inwardly felt amused but he didn't show it on the outside.
While they were walking down, Mei Ling felt that the hall of the restaurant wasn't filled with the usual vibrancy that a restaurant should have, even though this was a high-end restaurant, she still visited these types of restaurants before so she could instinctively tell that something was off about this place.
But as her boss was getting impatient, she couldn't examine the place thoroughly so she abandoned the idea of checking things up and quickly and followed her boss outside. Somehow, she felt really good, a cold hand tugging on her leading her through the way, and looking at that handsome face of her day 'boyfriend' she felt awfully good.
They walked down the street, Mei Ling followed Jack but as she was staring at him, she lost herself, so she completely forgot how they got here but when she woke up from her trance-like state, they were already inside a theater.
It was a romantic movie, Mei Ling immediately began her observation of the place, but there was no clue so she quickly got bored. The movie was not bad but it wasn't good either so Mei Ling still kept a careful watch on everyone because she felt that her boss wouldn't bring her here without a reason.
In the end, she still found nothing so she felt a bit frustrated, while all of this was happening Jack was discreetly looking at Mei Ling the whole time. Jack was once again disappointed and again he scolded himself, evidently, she doesn't like romantic movies! This time, the movie he selected was carefully chosen by statistic for the best movie for a date but seeing the result, he was enraged, he made a mental note to fire his stupid planning team.
In France, Planning team departments of Adler Corps: Everyone felt a chill suddenly.
Planning team member A: "We should close the windows it's a bit cold"
Planning team member B: "The windows weren't open, to begin with"
When they were leaving from the theater she once again felt that the atmosphere was weird, she couldn't point out where it was weird but Mei Ling felt that the atmosphere inside the theater was wrong, it shouldn't be like this. But again, she was brought out by the cold hand, she didn't know why but she felt very fresh. She enjoyed this feeling of being led by a strong hand.
Soon, they entered a car,
"Boss, I will drive" "No, I will" As she was about to enter the car by the driver seat, she felt an arm around her waist take her up and put her in the passenger seat. Mei Ling was simply stunned, her brain took a whole 10 minutes to register what happened inside her mind.
Even though it was an extremely short princess carry, she still got princess carried by her boss. Even if they were observed by the guys from Kazoku Corps isn't it too close? Even she felt that the reason wasn't valid anymore, but she convinced herself that it wasn't what she was imagining.
As the awkward atmosphere was going on,
she got a call. As she answered the call, another thought suddenly came into her mind. Today she had a suspicious lack of call on her phone, Afterall she was still the Head Secretary of Adler Corps and even though she was said to be Secretary of her boss, in reality, she played the role of the assistant and the secretary so not receiving a call for the whole morning was very rare.
"Oi, Mei Ling, it's Joann, how are you, it's been a while. It's just to invite you to the ten years high school graduation reunion, almost everyone already accepted except you, so are you coming?"
"Joann? It has sure been a while! So, when is it?"
"Come one Mei are you serious? Since everyone as a lot of work, we decide to make it between the 25th to 30th December, more exactly the 28th, so are you in?" Mei Ling directly looked at her schedule on the phone.
"Yes, I can, it's on the holiday of the company I work into, so yeah!"
"Good, you can bring your boyfriend if you want, bye bye" as he finished saying this he directly hanged up the phone while leaving Mei Ling tearing up.
'Do you have to rub salt in my wound, you bastard' was the thought inside Mei Ling's mind, everyone knew that she never had boyfriend so they used to make fun of her at the last reunion five years ago and now five years later Joann still found a way to rub salt in the wound.
As she thought about this she couldn't help but turn her head toward her boss, 'damn if only he was really my boyfriend'. As these thoughts appeared in her head she immediately shook her head, 'Mei Ling aren't you the one who rejected him!'.
They soon arrived at their destination it was a mountain. Mei Ling didn't understand how they could get evidence in the mountain about Kazoku Corps shady deals.
Jack on his side added a new planning, on his watch 'Go to the ten-year high school reunion of Mei Ling 28 December'.
"We are going to go hiking in this mountain" Jack stared at the beautiful floral dress of Mei Ling and her heels. He started asking himself if he was dumb. And his determination to fire that damned Planning Team increased by an unknown amount.
