บท 102: Unfortunate Mistake

Harry left the classroom a myriad of emotions surged through his head. These emotions included anger towards his new professor for hurting the feelings of one of his best friends. Another was fear towards that coldness and fear that had manifested when Kai had told Hermione to stop.

He understood that she should have listened to her professor's orders. But due to her complete and utter belief in books and authoritative figures and the fact that she thought that everything they say is the truth. She also got so caught up in her own minor lecture that Harry felt that she deserved the punishment a little.

But in the end, all that mattered was that she had disobeyed an order from her own professor. In all of his years with her, the only time that she did so was when Snape did something that was against the rules, caused injustice to students (particularly Harry).

Or with Umbridge earlier on where she protested to the teaching syllabus but even then, she was quiet when Umbridge told her to be silent.

Perhaps there were signs of discrimination that had managed to become ingrained in Hermione and perhaps even Harry. Hermione herself was a big advocate of equality, particularly regarding house elves, but it seemed that even she was subconsciously influenced by the constant prejudice and stigmas around her. To the point that she neglected the wishes of her vampire professor.

When Harry thought about it, Kai seemed to be in the right. It was obvious that the professor was doing his best to teach the class in the best and most interesting way possible.

But Hermione had touched a sore spot with denying the facts coming from the war veteran himself. It was clear as daylight to Harry that the vampire was still hurt from the war and being told by a student that all he had experienced was false must have hurt.

When he thought about it a bit more in depth, the expression and look in his eyes when talking about the war was rather similar to the ones he had on the train. The look of pain and longing, perhaps something had happened to his son during that time.

But he couldn't deny the fear that he had felt was indeed terrifying. He was also faintly aware that this was only a fragment of Kai's true capabilities with the way he had dominated the fight a few days ago when he had lost control of himself. But there was also a part of himself that enjoyed bathing in his teacher's presence.

This was the thing that truly freaked him out. His teacher had hurt his best friend's feelings and instead of trying to comfort her he had instead basked in his presence and tried to justify his actions. And he had succeeded to a degree. His emotions told him that he should support his best friend while logic stated that Kai was in the right.

But there was simply something that attracted him to the vampire. Something deeper. It was a faint pull that got stronger the closer he got to him. There was something incredibly familiar about the handsome midnight black haired teacher.

The feeling he had gotten from Kai during the outbreak had caused Harry to understand why Dumbledore considered him a dark creature and warned them to stay away.

But he would have to think about it in depth later, at the moment he had to go back Hermione and do some homework. After he had left the door he had met Ron who told him that Hermione had already gone to the common room quite distraught.

They had finished their studies for the day and most students were focusing on finishing their summer assignments. It gave Hermione time to barricade herself inside her dorm. Harry was aware that she would be hurting and closing herself off would only hurt her.

Ron had waited for him, as he feared about his best friend and was afraid that the terrifying new teacher was going to do something to his best friend.

"Ron its okay, he just wanted to talk about me receiving extra lessons relating to some of my previous grades." This had been his excuse to going to Kai's lessons without alerting his friends of the true reason.

He was aware that they didn't want him to go to Kai and what happened today just reinforced their decision. While he was aware that they weren't in charge of him and couldn't actually stop him. Hermione would go tattling on him to either Mcgonagal or Dumbledore and they would stop him from going to the lessons.

The main reason that he was going to go to Kai's lessons was that he needed to learn how to control his vampiric nature to teach to Sirius. His godfather was currently confined in his own house because he couldn't control himself properly.

Once Harry would learn how to do so he would be able to teach Sirius how to control himself.

But for the time being, it was imperative for Harry to arrive in the common room before Hermione did. He tried to tap into his vampiric power and to his surprise the power that usually resisted obeyed.

But as this was such a surprise he went speeding through the corridors, but he had forgotten to channel his vampiric power into his eyesight and perception thus merely reducing him to a speeding blur that couldn't understand where he was moving.

He tried to stop and smashed his heels into the floor. He had not reinforced them and as a result, he not only continued to move he had also burnt through his shoes and as a result, his feet.

He went skidding through the hall and crashed through an empty classroom's door. After doing so he slowed down enough to notice that he was skidding towards a large glass window that showed the rocky cliffside outside.

If he went flying through the window, then he would be incredibly hurt or worse die. Harry was unable to stop himself and tried to redirect his energy to reinforce his body, but due to the stress and the inexperience in the vampiric energy usage, he failed to do so.

The boy's thin body crashed through the window and he started his descent downwards towards the large jagged rocks. He tried to find something to grab onto or slow down his fall.

But there was nothing it was just an open space the trees and rocks were small splotches from his height. It was only now that he had realised how high up Hogwarts was from the ground.

As he plummeted downwards, he heard movement coming from the broken window. He managed to turn around on his back and saw a human silhouette jump out of the window with no hesitation and in his direction.

From the figures back two large wings sprouted and flapped propelling him towards Harry. But the boy in question was still mortal and was unable to fully access his vampiric heritage, thus requiring him to breathe the oxygen in the air. Something he was unable to do at the high speeds he was falling at.

His sight started to get blurry and he saw that the silhouette was nearing him, he stretched his arm out and as he lost consciousness, he saw a pair of red eyes flash brilliantly in the light.

Harry has had most of his vampire abilities sealed away while the memories of how to use them have been buried deep in his subconscious.

I had some RL stuff to attend in the past few days so I could only release the chapter now. Enjoy
