Chapter 1: Vitan Asmodeus
The sky was not the usual azure blue but a clear, lake-like turquoise. A gentle breeze blew, neither too cold nor too hot. The ground was a kaleidoscope of colors!
There were endless green meadows, lush forests, and continuous crimson mountains. A massive medieval European-style castle stood on this boundless plain. Undoubtedly, such a landscape would make anyone marvel at the pristine beauty of nature, a rare sight in the rapidly industrializing modern world.
But at this moment, the clear sky underwent a terrifying change. A pitch-black sun burned fiercely, its intense heat distorting the surrounding space. The sky around the black sun turned a deep black, with cracks spreading out like a shattered mirror. Ominous, terrifying, and evil, it was like an abyss of sin that one could not gaze upon without falling into eternal damnation.
Yet, the city's inhabitants seemed accustomed to this sight. They skillfully pushed their young ones with weak magic back into their homes, shielding them from the black sun's rays, and then resumed their activities as if nothing had happened.
At the same time, in the grand castle, the courtyard was vast enough to be considered excessive. In this courtyard, a team of maids, dressed in light maid outfits, stood in two neat rows. Each maid had a voluptuous figure and a beauty comparable to top international stars.
In the middle of these maids stood a strikingly handsome man with deep brown short hair, a smooth and fair face, sharp features, and deep black eyes that shone with charm. His thick eyebrows, high nose, and perfect lips exuded nobility and elegance.
"Radix, is this considered a success?" the man asked in a slow and calm tone, his thin lips parting.
It was a strange scene, as the maids stood quite a distance from the man, making it seem like he was talking to the air. But a voice responded, "Yes, Master. You have successfully integrated the true core of my former master, Dis."
The voice came from a small book hanging around the man's neck like a necklace. The book was the size of an adult woman's palm, with a pattern of four diamonds connected in the center and silver edges. It was sealed with silver chains.
"Turn back into human form," the man said, elegantly raising his hands to remove the book from his neck.
"Yes, Master," the voice replied indifferently. The book floated from the man's palm, wrapped in a strong white light, with three black light bands extending from it. The chains broke with a ringing sound, and the book transformed into a graceful woman with water-blue hair, wearing a black strapless gown.
"Congratulations, Master," she said with a faint smile, kneeling beside the man.
"Not just me, but you too. Only by successfully integrating the true core have you fulfilled your former master's commission," the man replied, satisfied.
The woman, Radix, smiled and knelt on one knee. "Yes, following the command of my former master Dis and the agreement with Lord Vitan, I, Radix Astil, will dedicate everything to you from today."
Vitan nodded in satisfaction and gestured for Radix to stand behind him. Just as he was about to speak, a silver light beam pierced the night sky, striking the black sun. Vitan's expression twitched, and a maid reported, "Lord Beelzebub and Lord Asmodeus have sent letters announcing their visit."
"Do you need to say that? The annihilation cannon has already shattered my magic," Vitan said, slightly annoyed. He waved the maid away and a ribbon-like object with the number 7 floated up. Radix smiled and stepped into the ribbon's range.
"Let's go meet the two Demon Kings. If my sister strikes again, the magic I just cast will be wasted," Vitan said.
