why don't we get told things? That is the most frustrating about this novel. Interesting plot points or anecdotes are brought up and just breezed past like the author didn't feel like writing it.
What was the contract offered by the Potters? We don't get pay off from a lot of subjects in this novel so far.
She didn't really care that much about the Gryffindor boy, but her family had already signed a contract with the Potters, there was no going back now, their side was chosen. If the boy who lived died and Voldemort won, her family would be doomed.

Ash went to the Egg station and bought more rotten eggs under the excuse that he was feeding them to his Muk. It wasn't technically a lie, but it still felt a little shady. While there, he also checked out the Egg chamber and ensured there were no cameras around. Thankfully, there weren't any.
