I like Yang Kai alot from the original. Don't kill him or do anything to his original family like other fanfics. Honestly, his character was very well written not arrogant or anything only confident when he had power.
{A-Note: I know that many don't like how Yang Kai can keep up with his original cultivation, even without many of his advantages, but you should still keep in mind that Yang Kai's original talent for cultivation and Martial Arts was already high enough to make him a Open Heaven Realm cultivator (his talent for space and spear were innately his), though it might have taken him a lot of time to reach there (with just his talent). It's just that his body was damaged by the powerful and corrosive demonic Qi. Also, don't forget the most important point that he is still the 'Son of the Plane', so he still gets his fair share of opertunities.}
