I plan to reveal more about him further down the line
Still reeling from shock, Malik forced himself to focus. His mind raced. 'This isn't my body. This belongs to someone else.' As soon as he thought that a sudden flood of information overwhelmed him. The name 'Darius' surfaced. This body belonged to a boy named Darius, an orphan.

yeah that was what i was going for. tq
A sense of unease settled over me. I didn't like where this was going. "I'm sorry, but I cannot accept this," I said, shaking my head. "My mother warned me against accepting things from strangers."

lol
I hesitated, unsure of how to respond. "Because I can't get along with them. They seem childish and naïve."

yup
Something in his voice, in the way he spoke, made me pause. I could feel the sincerity in his words, the regret that laced every syllable. My curiosity won out over my caution. "What if the suffering and pain we experience come from those very loved ones?" I asked, the question tumbling out before I could stop myself.

you always have casualties in war. this Is why i want to make a more realistic setting. it does not mean that I plan to kill off the mcs friends.
After my final exams, as I was heading home, I found myself inexplicably drawn to the book the old man had given me. I had nearly forgotten about it after those first few weeks. At first, the story intrigued me, but I quickly grew frustrated. The characters were maddeningly naive, especially the hero, who, among other things, refused to let any of his allies or friends die in battle, causing countless more lives to be lost. Other characters were too selfish or naïve to see the obvious deceptions woven intricately to fool them. Some were immature and greedy, prioritizing short-term gain at the expense of a future filled with misery for themselves and their loved ones. The world in the novel seemed doomed, and I couldn't bring myself to finish it. Still, I kept the book with me, tucked away in my bag, as if waiting for some unknown reason to finish it.

well it's not what i was going for. stick around for a few chapters and see for yourself
Modern
"Of course," I muttered under my breath, eyeing the long staircase that led to the upper levels. Thankfully, students here could use mana to reinforce their bodies, so climbing stairs was no trouble. Still, it was a reminder of the hierarchy that would be in full effect from next year. Second-year students had the option to change rooms based on merit, and during midterms, the top 200 students could switch to better accommodations. The top 10 students even get exclusive VIP rooms with private training areas. I remembered hearing a story about Arthur and Jayden getting into a heated fight over the first-place room—it wasn't just a matter of comfort, but status.

still working on it
It was there that I first saw him—the hero chosen by this world, destined to fight the Demon Emperor: Arthur Ashford. He had blonde hair and a sleek build. Taller than me, he possessed a face that would surely cause scandals in the future. If I wasn't mistaken, this was the stage where he would start attracting attention due to his talents—able to harness all elemental mana and wield holy energy on top of that. His mana quality was also higher than the prince of the Holy Empire, Jayden Ingrail. Though Jayden was also a once-in-a-lifetime genius, possessing affinity with all the elements and holy energy, he couldn't use the holy energy itself. In the novel, it was suspected this had something to do with the neglect he suffered as a child.

I have read a few chapters. the writing quality is good in my opinion but I think you need to polish your storytelling. You have to add more description to the events that happen during each scene to help people visualise the scenes. looking forward to seeing how it goes
here is one for darius
The face staring back was different from the one he had seen growing up. "How is this possible?" His features were sharper, more angular. His eyes, still the same deep black he had always known, now gleamed with a foreign intensity. His hair, which had always been curly, was now straighter, neater. His skin was lighter, paler, as if he had lived in this body for years.
