He knows there is someone out there but has no clue where this being is since if you recall every time Orach interfered it was a wipe out or banishment no one alive to outside the Earth and Lantern corps (recently) can identify him. So, why would his arrogance and pride not win over his fleeting feeling of fear. Plus for Darkseid anti life is his obsession and he is an avatar of the real darkseid that exists on the same plane of existence as that of the hands and monitors.
