Jesus Christ, this is a ridiculous amount
A few moments later the ghost parade made it to our side, and they all landed in an orderly fashion, with the 5 platinum sub-bosses standing at the front of the ghost army. The (mid) platinum Golurk, the two (low) platinum Cofagrigus, and the two (low) platinum Runerigus 2 saluted and announced that they had brought all their subordinates just like I had ordered. Aside from the bosses, there were 93 dark gold stage Golurk, 158 gold stage Golurk, 289 dark gold stage Cofagrigus, 375 gold stage Cofagrigus, 77 dark gold stage Runerigus, and 152 gold stage Runerigus. A grand total of 1149 ghosts ranging from the platinum stage to the gold stage.

I was naturally disappointed by that news, but I still decided to check the place out for myself just in case I misunderstood Sandygast's description. Decision made we headed for the site, and at first glance, I saw a lot of sand, with a bunch of wrecked walls poking out of the sand here and there. Letting my gaze wander a bit, I spotted 16 places where stones were poking out of the sand, with none of them hinting at any grand structure but rather simple houses if not well-made ones considering their walls were made of stone.

I know that this is to make the story more interesting, but this is a really stupid decision for a world that's supposed to be more logical. Nathan, having read all of those books and stories, should know that this is how you get yourself into a fight with an evil organization.
If they left, and this person died, it would be hard to figure out the situation.

Dude's a sand bender now
I decided to head east first, so we began to trudge our way to the first of 5 stops on this route. A minute into our walk I decided to spice things up a bit since just looking at the sand was honestly a bit boring. I chose to manipulate the sand/ground beneath my feet, compacting a small area around my feet before manipulating the sand around that to push me forward. I was essentially using my ground manipulation to do some sand surfing. I was still moving at the same speed, meaning I was still slow, but since I was essentially doing two ground manipulations at once, it still served as a pretty good exercise. That it was more fun than just watching the sand along the way was a definite plus as well. As for keeping an eye out for any ambushes, I left that to Seb/Nidoking and Gaia/Nidoqueen.

That left 8 Gligar with yellowish potential, with one of them being the Gligar that used to have deep orange potential. The only disappointing point was that there was still a Gligar that failed to even attain light yellow potential, so I decided to temporarily turn him infertile just in case he decided to get active to prevent him from compromising their potential average any further, and he was not the only one. Since I already had a small base to work with I decided to let the Gligar go with the elite route as well, so I added the Gligar with light yellow potential to the temporarily infertile list as well. I usually did not make use of this unless the Pokemon in question had red or deep red potential and lived in the main space, but since I wanted an elite colony I decided to adapt.

A Sandile would also be a good recruit while he's out here. So I'm guessing he's going to ask for information about those who dwell in the desert.
I gotta wonder, can Nathan lend them Ena to awaken them and then have them return the Ena with interest? Like he lends normal people 10 ena to fet them started and they have to return 50. That would unlock ultra efficient mode.
"They have trained their bodies to the limit after all." David chuckled.

Frankly, this thing looked like a split off of the Diglett line to me that became its own thing due to differing too much from the original, and I saw from the notes of Head Nurse Joy that she and the others suspected the same. Still, funny-looking Pokemon aside, I still had no explanation why the alliance had no idea of Paldea's existence or why no one from Paldea had tried to establish contact at some point. Still, I now knew for sure that Paldea belonged to this era and that it existed somewhere out there right now. Well, unless it had gotten destroyed sometime after the 293rd edition of the Paldean PokeDex got released, but what are the chances of something like that happening; Laughably low right?
