u do know he's been acting for nearly 10 years now. in front of the very gods who made Aelthar run and hide in fear. His act doesn't fall short of anything, he's the perfect actor now. as for why he failed, you'll see the reason in next chapters. (and obviously he's gonna blame fate, cause that's the thing always opposing him) but it's merely his first reaction, as he too knows where the god might've been suspicious.
(Is this fate?) He cursed in his mind, while thinking how to explain stuff to Aelthar.

Rio without avoiding her eye contact said - "It's been a long time." Rio watched as Artemis clenched her fists in anger but before she could ask anything else, he took the charge for the conversation and continued - "She's not the enemy mother. At least not now. She was also the one who told me about Beric and Chiron, and in return I promised to help her in freeing her sister. "

I enjoy it
Trust is a big word in his case. I mean he was a God. so u can imagine how long he must have lived. and by habits of his original world which he was all peace and calm, the man was literally thrown into a warzone in Arcadia. He tried to do what he did for all his life, saving mortals. but alas mortals of arcadia didn't know or love him enough like back on his world did. plus a mortal could never harm a God so he had no reason to doubt their revolt. he just overlooked the part where some gods would forsake their own ego and get help from the same low level mortals they despised just to get him killed. he didn't have enemies, he didn't take part in war, - he even left the places where other gods roamed and lived amongst the mortals on ground --he had nothing that others should care or bother about _ but alas, fate is such. death comes in unexpected ways. . but that doesn't change , he was a fool. . he was too good to be true in a time and place as complicated as Arcadia. . which is why his next unexpected turn would feel so gooood in next chapters.. the brightest of heroes makes the worst of the villains..
