Hope you don't mind, this contains spoilers for future chapters. With a lot of foreshadowing, I've slowly introduced a strange organization attempting to take over the world. To do that, they needed to carry out experiments with dragon kin blood, which led them to raid a dragon kin clan in the wastelands. Alister just so happened to run into them because he was also out searching for the dragon kin to protect them. Obviously, he eradicated all the humans attempting to capture them. That organization will realize that dealing with him alone would be impossible, so instead, they will find a way to pin him against all the major guilds of the mega cities. They will also turn the guilds against him. This will work by the strange organization giving intel to the guilds to raid some ruins that possess a powerful relic. That relic is actually something a future version of Alister warned him to prevent from getting into human hands. If it does, he is to kill the host, regardless of who they are. When a guildmaster obtains this relic, Alister will use all his dragons to kill them, which will cause the other guilds to see him as a threat. The organization will continue directing other guilds to find relics, leading to an all-out war between Alister and all the guilds which will inevitably paint him as an enemy to humanity.
