He did not directly channel their power straight from the source, they came in through the blessings so the arguments for his survival could amount to: He is far more resilient than Martin Septim, divine blood going brrr, blessings being far less direct than an intervention, being in sovengarde (a bit iffy on that one admittedly) and last but not least system bullshit giving the blessings more form (again, a bit iffy)
