The idea that every character has to experience romance assumes a pretty narrow view of life and ignores how diverse people's experiences really are. Not everyone falls in love.....some people are aromantic, some are focused on other things, and some just never end up in romantic situations. Fiction is great because it can explore so much more than just romance. Stories can focus on adventure, survival, personal growth, world building or even deeper questions about life. Plus, things like culture or life circumstances can shape someone’s experiences, and not everyone’s story has to include romance. By including characters who don’t have romantic relationships, fiction feels more real and does a better job of capturing the wide range of human experiences.
mmmmm.... no this is a fictional story where any is impossible so these characters don't have to follow how the real world works , even in real life people rather stay alone even if they see or hear about all cons of it and not every story need romance, most times romance ruin a story and can change the MC for the worst
Why have romance?
My smile widened even more. "The kind of problem where I get a convenient prey served on a silver platter. Do you think you're superior? Do you think those three Fatal Shots will land a shot before I cut off your head? Do you think their arrows have any chance of hitting? Do you honestly think you're the predator in this scenario?"

"Oh, I'm almost certain they're joining you, but not me. I have a bigger prey to hunt," I replied, keeping the smile as I moved closer to Charles and his camp. As I approached, a tingling sensation took over me, alerting me to the danger lurking behind the man. I could distinctly feel three Fatal Shots with their bows probably aimed at me, in case I tried something.

"I just wanted to make something clear. I'll leave my old comrades with you, so take good care of them. Of course, if anything happens, we'll have a problem," I said, now just a step away from the middle-aged warrior.

"But simply murdering someone…" Beatrice murmured while immediately casting a confused glance at me.

Even if he did not attack, the boar would still have attacked them which would still lead to them killing it and the big boar attacking them
Not shooting would have been stupid too. It could have been a predator waiting to ambush us or even some kind of trap. Besides, it was an enemy we clearly could handle. The only reason Abigail ended up like she did was because she made a mistake and tripped.
