True it's definitely more powerful but in my opinion it's nowhere near as versatile as chakra.

except for you know he was with Orochimaru at the time, and I believe they only had his word on that. not to mention you would think him having Orochimaru a Kage level shinobi with him known for situational awareness and intelligence would have noticed the so-called trap beforehand.
He also remembered how Tsunade's younger brother, a Senju heir and one of Orochimaru's disciples, had mysteriously died on a mission with Orochimaru. Even back then, Jiraiya had sensed something was off, not to mention the complete decline of the Senju clan afterward.
