How does this trainwreck have four stars? It's so badly written. The author literally used the play format for all of the dialogue instead of just writing it out. And the less said about spelling, grammar, punctuation, etcetera, the better.

I reviewed this about a year ago, and for whatever reason, I thought it was pretty good. Having now read up to chapter 30, I would like to clarify: it is not. I don't really feel like saying much here. The protagonist just makes such bad life choices, and the setting is just so poorly thought out, it's not even fun to mock anymore. It's just sad. Genuinely surprised the author managed to write 1000+ chapters of this.

Indeed. He should've told his superiors about his reincarnation, shared all his modern knowledge, and exposed his magic. Clearly that's his most intelligent option here.

An actually good HP fanfiction on Webnovel? I must be hallucinating. If I had to criticize something it's how lucky the MC ends up being, IE, in the forbidden forest. Dude should've died multiple times over to the manticore, and someone definitely should've noticed his rituals. I enjoyed it though, so I guess it's something of a moot point.

Every fanfic MC gets into potions and alchemy. But they master the subjects off-screen and then proceed to never use them.

He knew that Astronomy would be useful for when he eventually got into more complex potions and rituals.

"We need a savior! Who? Dumbledore? No, I was hoping there was a clueless orphan somewhere we could pick instead. No, not that one, we need someone less sane. Ooh, perfect, he's practically foaming at the mouth. Give him power. What could possibly go wrong?"

[This world has diverged drastically from the original course. As it is, there would be many wars in the future which would cause the destruction of this world. AR is unable to directly affect this world. Thus, they need a proxy, an agent who can influence things and prevent the destruction.

I do find it a bit strange he's read all those books on "pureblood etiquette" so he doesn't seem stupid, but now he's going to deliberate lengths to seem uneducated.

The next day, I woke up early due to excitement as it is the day I start Hogwarts. I already packed my stuff in my new trunk last night. Going over things the last time, I am now ready for Hogwarts. Matron gives me a ride to the railway station. I made my way toward platform 9 and went through the barrier by following other wizards who were dressed in robes. Coming out through the barrier, I saw the Hogwarts express with a red engine. Since it is early at 10:00 AM, Platform is not crowded. I easily make my way to the train and board. I found an empty compartment towards the back and went in and put my trunk on the overhead rack. I didn't shrink it to avoid suspicion since as an orphan 1st-year student, I am not supposed to know any magic.

Nah this is a really interesting excerpt, though. Because the MC explains that he's going to be acting entirely for the sake of his own self interest, but then when Fudge chooses not to risk his life against Voldemort or when Dumbledore chooses to keep Snape around for personal benefit he immediately writes the off as morons. Lol.

Next is the issue of Hogwarts. For a proclaimed safest place in England, From troll to basilisk, dementors, etc. it sure felt a lot more dangerous in the books. It's dangerous enough as it is, let alone getting involved and helping main characters which will have the danger level hit through the roof. No helping (or even interacting with them) will have to wait till I am strong enough and even then if it directly helps me in one way or another. Hey don't judge me, I am a pragmatic person and this world is a dangerous place where every wizard or witch carry weapons of mass destruction(wand) even if they don't realize it and ministry is not competent enough to make me feel safe (Not when minister of magic prefers to bury his head in the sand instead of facing problem even if it hits him in the face) and given that teachers have low regard for students safety, some even like to outright bully them(read Severus Snape). It's bad enough when the headmaster of school likes to give second chances to everyone like they are going out of style, what's worse is that he is chief warlock who presides over the wizarding court. Yup, laying low till I am strong enough is the way to go.
