this story was interesting until "[...] because the knowledge was bound to endanger him more than it would help him." how is possible not knowing something be better that knowing and be prepared for it? or is your MC so weak-minded that he will become crazy just by knowing... it is just something that doesn't makes sense for me... at the end we know that it is just used to create mystery around the MC and try to bond readers to the history... but for me it's just too illogical that it makes me wonder if I should keep reading if this continues on...
