Chakra can be gained through other means. Gaara's seal isnt really the best and barely works on bijuu. Magnet release (sand version) is really good for a swordman. Just imagine adding some sand on your sword. You can later use it as a "smoke screen" or leave some of it in your enemy's injury giving you the ability to feel where they are, make them blood vessel burst by controlling the sand inside them, same thing by making them inhale sand particules. You also gain one of the best move in the Naruto world, the ability to fly thanks to a sand plateform making you able to run away from almost all the ninjas.
