Maybe you have the idea that filler = anything that the mc doesn't have a direct hand in because this 'filler' is still driving the main story forward. Results of this 'filler': 1) Edric gets a dragonbone bow and publicly displays his martial/magical prowess, bolstering the belief that he is divine. 2) Edric is ambushed by assassins in the melee, further shows his endurance and dominance with the warhammer. 3) Brienne joins the Kingsguard, becoming the seventh 4) Arthur is promoted to Serjeant and acting Lord Commander 5) A more general point; the Kingsguard (who are half new) get to prove themselves before the Realm 6) Introduces Rhaerra and her men, who will be some of the heroes to play part in the Long Night. I don't want to write a needless essay in reply to a webnovel comment but it revolves around the Kingsguard and them evolving as a unit and building a stronger bond. You know, the people that are around Edric 24/7 until they die. There is also Rhaerra, who has significance. Would it better if I skimmed over it all? "Erm this is so rushed, Author just wants to finish the story quickly :nerd:" It might feel like a lot of chapters, but that's only because some of the old ones were 2-4x longer in some cases (I had no schedule to adhere to on discord) and probably because my update rate has been meh (which is more or less my fault)

Brienne fit into the Storm's End youth as well as Russell Westbrick with a team of non-shooters. There was one good thing, though… getting closer to her was much easier than anyone else. We were in the same boat, more or less. Plus she was ugly so I wasn't nervous at all talking to her, unlike some other girls (just being 100% honest). There were other new people around in Storm's End… but none of them were Alysanne, which was a little disappointing.
