EDI was created a mix of the VI we kill in the Luna mission (Mass Effect 1) and Reapers Tech. The chances she's created identical increasingly reduces with each changes of the Time-line, starting with LD creation and it's economic fights with Cerberus buisness (and heavy scientists/tech/engineers hiring).

You need to add a category of ship. You can't say "it's the best" and stop here. A dreadnought will never be the best starfighter, a cargos hip will never be the best frigate, a recon ship will never be the best mining ship, etc...
