Thank you for mentioning this, Coming back to rewrite after so long makes me have moments where I forget little details I wrote despite re-reading it myself. Im amending this part now so it will make sense.

You helped me on discord my friend with the ancient language (Inheritance) stuff on fictions server, I bookmarked your book then. I look forward to seeing what you do :)
You're great with the descriptions and details, looking forward to seeing where this goes! :)
There's many things Oz can hold above Dumbledore and many reasons why he initiated this sort of rebuke. First, Dumbledore's main slipup was his curiosity leading to his rush to get the events sorted, with what happened to Oz this year, Oz only need explain to certain people who know his identity and word would spread. A headmaster allowing a student to be bullied. The teachers of the school, including those that are necessarily more 'angrier' would be easily coaxed into becoming witnesses for Oz and backing him up. Two, Merlin's Descendant as an Identity is a nameplate but that identity is heralded miles higher than what anyone would initially expect (and Dumbledore knows this) after all, The ministry is putting in actual effort to shield Oz's identity until Oz was okay with showing it and this was all due to Oz just requesting it at Gringotts (Think about it, Dumbledore is within the ministry yet had to discover the identity on his own. Thats how tightly locked it was). There's a BIG difference between 'Supreme Mugwump, second coming of Merlin' and 'Literal Merlin's proven descendant'. Paired with Dumbledore's drive to discover Oz, he wouldn't just suddenly act against Oz, Oz is purely showing his stance to Dumbledore by stating 'I don't want to be under you as you plan, I have higher goals and am not going to be restrained to Hogwarts'. Whilst he's harsh in his rebuke, he's not necessarily spitting sophistry, he's literally saying it how it is. Dumbledore's intentions were twisted and the headmaster himself knows it as he straight up apologised for this curiosity that led to a rushed and somewhat botched situation on his part due to his own rush in regards to what's happening starting next year. Three, Oz showed intelligence that he has 'some' idea of the events to come. He scratched the tip of the iceberg, as if only 'guessing', but he insinuated he knew what would happen next in the wizarding world and 'canon'. This would place him high in Dumbledore's eyes and sure, Dumbledore will place suspicion on him. With that amount of intelligence though, on the level of foresight, Dumbledore would be hard pressed to try anything as he cant predict what Oz knows or will do. On top of this, Hagrid is in the room as well, this is an incredibly important part and a defining factor as to why Oz is saying any of this in the first place. Finally, If word is to spread of this event with Dumbledore, Dumbledore's actions in Hogwarts towards Oz, Oz's identity and everything building to this point, the first person who'd be a suspect if anything happened to Oz would be Dumbledore due to how he treated Oz in the year and if this event spreads between the headmaster and Oz, (think about the people who are aware this meeting is happening), people will start to be suspicious of Dumbledore and his intentions with Oz, the descendant of merlin. So the main factors as to why Oz has charged forward with this sort of situation; Merlin's descendants identity holds weight, Hagrid being present, Oz's own foresight, the people who are angry and aware of this event happening and finally Oz's words aren't necessarily wrong or straight up antagonistic, he's simply stating what he thinks due to being subjected to purposeful bullying by a headmaster with too much curiosity. With Oz's talent, his lineage and now his intelligence, Dumbledore would deem it a waste to lose such a person considering the climate of the wizarding world soon. Hearing Oz's words he will change his plans, knowing Oz isn't simple and the way to 'approach' him would need to be more delicate as he's not a simple 11 year old boy. I hope this explains somewhat what im going for, a bit of an info dump I admit though so I apologise for the wall of text hahah To finalise all this; Dumbledore in my novel is 'Chaotic Neutral/Lawful Evil (if need be)'. He wouldn't attack Oz purely because of this and Oz knows that.
That's honestly half the reason why I wrote it haha, if people think its too 'out of character' though I can amend it :)
"I couldn't guess at your identity though throughout this year as you didn't give any clear sign of your prowess, but yesterday when the events unfolded as they did you finally showcased that immense talent latent within you, handling those other Slytherins like a champ"

If more people agree with this statement ill amend this part. I didn't initially include it when Oz went around buying things but it could be assumed he got 3 sets. If others agree, Ill change this part over :)
